    摘要: An illumination device has a plurality of sealing structures each including a light-emitting diode, sealed by a high refractive index transparent material member which is further sealed by a low refractive index transparent material member. To increase a divergence angle of light radiation, the portion of the high refractive index transparent material member which covers an upper surface of the light-emitting diode is structured so as to satisfy a relation H>(L/2)/tan {sin−1(n1/n2)}, where H represents a thickness of the high refractive index transparent material member measured at the central portion of the upper surface of the light-emitting diode, L represents the length of one side of the upper surface of the light-emitting diode, n1 represents the refractive index of the high refractive index transparent material member and n2 represents the refractive index of the low refractive index transparent material member.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display appliance for controlling a plurality of divided area in the display screen. In order to achieve the above object, the liquid crystal display appliance according to the present invention includes a lighting apparatus which includes a light source, and an light guide plate to diffuse lights from the light source to obtain a surface light source; and a liquid crystal panel which is placed opposed to the lighting apparatus and includes a liquid crystal layer. The light guide plate is made by bonding a plurality of transparent light guide members each of which has a different refractive index greater than 1.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel and an illuminating device having a plurality of LED packages which include LED's and a lens. Each LED package includes a high refractive index member containing a substance having a larger refractive index than that of a material forming the lens and which seals the LED. The lens is shaped to have a recess near its center, and is shaped so that a moving radius increases as a polar angle increases within a range of 0 to 80 degrees. The moving radius is defined as a distance starting from the lens center and ending in the lens surface, and the polar angle is defined as an angle that is made by the moving radius to the center axis that is vertical to a plane on which said LED package is located and passing through the center of the lens.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes: a light guide plate 102 having an emission surface 102D emitting light to a liquid crystal panel and a plurality of side surfaces; and a plurality of light sources LEDPKG inputting light to the light guide plate from at least one side surface. The light guide plate is divided into a plurality of parts extending from the light inputted one side surface to an opposite side surface and the plurality of parts include at least one first part 102A and at least one second part 102B. The first part and the second part are adjacent to each other, and two-dimensionally overlap with the display area, respectively. At least the second part has a shape for emitting the light from an emission surface, and a sectional shape in the extending direction of the first part is greater than that of the second part.
