    摘要： In a memory control apparatus for providing various video display functions by means of a video memory into which video data constituting successive units, such as, frames or fields, or video information are written at repeatedly changing write addresses while concurrently reading out the data from repeatedly changing read-out addresses; the video memory is provided with at least four memory areas each having a capacity to store one of the units of video information, impending overtaking of the write and read-out addresses relative to each other is detected, and, in response to such detection, the one of the memory areas in which the data is being written or read-out is changed so as to maintain a separation of the write and read-out addresses sufficient to ensure avoidance of overtaking and consequent disturbance of the displayed image.

The communication device includes: a camera capturing a picture; an information processing section detecting a face image from the picture captured by the camera, to generate a partial picture including the detected face image; a transmitting section encoding the partial picture to generate encoded data, and transmitting the encoded data to a counterpart; and a first receiving section receiving data transmitted from the counterpart, and decoding the received data to generate a picturephone picture.

A digital broadcast receiver calculates the presentation delay time dt from the presentation time when video based on the compressed video data is to be presented to the time when the video is presented on the presentation unit, and outputs audio based on the compressed audio data when the calculated presentation delay time dt passes from the sounding time when the audio based on the compressed audio data is to be outputted.

    摘要： A television receiver in which a video signal of an interlaced system is received and converted in field frequency by using field memories (6a) and (6b) and then fed to a picture receiving tube (9). In this case, the picture receiving tube (9) is subjected to a vertical deflection scanning by a vertical synchronizing signal of a constant period and the video signal in each field of the video signal to be supplied to the picture receiving tube (9) is delayed by a predetermined time by controlling, for example, the read-out timings of the field memories (6a) and (6b) to thereby keep an interlace-ratio constant. Consequently, since the respective vertical cycles are equal to one another, even if the parabolic current wave of the vertical cycle for deflection correcting, for example, is superposed on the horizontal deflecting current, the horizontal deflection current waveform is equal in each vertical period so that the jitter can be prevented from being produced at the right and left ends of the picture screen.

In this apparatus, a new extended function program can be added at low cost as required.
