摘要： A method of acquiring and accumulating data from a server via a network is provided. A request is transmitted for a plurality of items of data and includes at least one ingestion marker associated with the data. The at least one ingestion marker represents a last occurrence of when a change was made to the data. Data is received with a transfer protocol in response to the request. The data has at least one associated ingestion marker different than the at least one associated ingestion marker transmitted with the request. The received data and the at least one associated ingestion marker is stored in memory. The request is transmitted and the data is received and stored electronically by an electronic client device communicating with the server over the network. A system of acquiring and accumulating Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data from a web-server over a network is also disclosed.

摘要： A transmitting/receiving system and a data processing method of the same are disclosed herein. The receiving system may include a receiving unit, a first processing unit, and a second processing unit. The receiving unit receives a broadcast signal including mobile service data from at least one slot. The first processing unit acquires FIC segments divided from an FIC chunk of at least one sub-frame. Herein, each FIC segment comprises a 2-byte segment header and a 35-byte segment payload. The segment header includes an FIC type information, a number of a corresponding FIC segment, and a number of a last FIC segment among the FIC segments divided from the FIC chunk. The second processing unit obtains the FIC chunk including signaling information between at least one ensemble and at least one mobile service from respective payloads of the FIC segments, based upon the acquired FIC type information, number of the corresponding FIC segment, and number of the last FIC segment of each FIC segment.

摘要： Data streams are generally selected according to user preferences and transmitted to the user in general alignment with expressed preferences of the user. Such data streams may be music, including music videos. Users may indicate their general or specific preferences with regards to song, artists, or albums. Any other aspects or factors that might affect the user's preferences can be taken into account. A playlist is created that combines all of these factors. The playlist then serves as the basis for feeding the data streams to the user. Each user is able to express his or her own preferences and receive music corresponding to those preferences on an on-going basis.

Before the switching time, the receiver receives the data stream from the current source, and after the switching time, the receiver receives the data stream from the next source. The next source can be defined in initial service location information, or in updated service location information obtained later. An apparatus and method for providing the service location information are also disclosed. In some embodiments, a broadcast provider and/or the receiver can execute a method to compensate for an IP delay experienced by the receiver.

摘要： To allow a user to maximize use of a video and digital multimedia aggregator, a search suggestion engine and corresponding method may be used to provide suggestions of available content. The search suggestion engine starts by constructing a database of metadata elements or word items. The metadata element database may be constructed by using a crawler that periodically or continually crawls a content metadata database and extracts word items from the content metadata database. The word items are then processed according to a number of factors, including part-of-speech, entries in dictionaries and thesaurus and other factors. The thus-processed word items are indexed, and may be provided with a vector value. A subsequent search request submitted by the user may include search criteria that may be provided vector values. A processor within the search suggestion engine compares the vector values to determine if an indexed word item should be considered for retrieving the indexed word item's associated content. A list of suggested content is then generated. The list of suggested items may be ranked and filtered before being provided to the user.
