Upon detection of a jammed item of media within the deskew module, angled drives are activated to lift a jammed corner of the item off a track base of the deskew module and free the item's jammed corner. Next, straight drives are activated to eject the item from the deskew module.

摘要: A double-sided image forming device includes: a paper feeding section (3); a printing section (4); a first conveyance route (6) for conveying a fed paper sheet (2) to a paper discharge section (8) via the printing section (4); and a second conveyance route (7) for receiving, on its conveyance surface, the paper sheet (2), a first side (21) of which has been printed, from the first conveyance route (6), and for conveying the paper sheet (2) while reversing it, thereby conveying the paper sheet (2) to the upstream side of the printing section (4) in the conveyance direction of the first conveyance route (6), wherein the second conveyance route (7) has a reverse conveyance route (9) for receiving, on its conveyance surface, a second side (22) of the paper sheet (2), and for conveying the paper sheet (2) while reversing it, and wherein the reverse conveyance route (9) is formed by a combination of a plurality of reverse mechanisms each including: a first conveyance section (91) for linearly conveying the paper sheet (2); a reverse section (92) for reversing the conveyed paper sheet (2) while bending it along a curved inner peripheral surface; and a second conveyance section (93) for linearly conveying the reversed paper sheet (2).

摘要: A device for orienting flat mail items with a u-shaped conveying channel has a base belt guided over reversing rollers and driven at a predetermined speed. First and second guiding belts are driven at the predetermined speed and guided over deflection rollers. A flat mail item is transported over a defined path standing on its narrow side. The first guiding belt is inclined as a lateral reference belt for frictional orientation of the mail items and guided via fixed deflection rollers. The second guiding belt is guided by pression deflection rollers so that the conveying channel possesses a defined minimum channel width to orient thin mail items on the base belt. For the mail items located in the conveying channel, the second guiding belt deviates against a spring force of a deflection roller bearing, with the second guiding belt possessing a lower coefficient of friction than the lateral reference belt.

摘要: A platen structure to facilitate the transport of stacked sheet material conveyed along a transport deck of a sheet feeing apparatus. The platen structure comprises first and second segments connected by means of a compliant coupling. The first segment of the platen is operative to engage a face of the stacked sheet material and apply a stabilizing normal force thereon. The second segment of the platen is operative to engage and travel synchronously with a moving surface of the transport deck. Furthermore, the first and second segments are connected by means of a compliant coupling which is operative to facilitate the relative angular displacement of the first and second segments about at least one axis while maintaining the relative linear displacement therebetween about at least one of the other axes. The platen structure ensures reliable sheet material run-out by compensating for a reduction in sheet material weight as the final or last sheets of the stack are singulated/separated. Furthermore, the compliant coupling enables the various segments of the platen structure to conform to the contour of the stacked sheet material, i.e., a cantilevered delivery profile.

摘要: A high speed sheet feeder for use with utilization devices that process sheets comprises a source of sheets, that can include a web cutter and a transport unit having a surface along which the sheets travel in a downstream direction. The surface can include a pair of conveyors that act as sheet justifiers and have at downstream ends thereof wait stations that can comprise pairs of nip rollers. Sheets are halted at each wait station and simultaneously passed along the surface as a sheet request signal is received from the utilization device. The transport unit can further include a bump/turn module that receives sheets from the conveyors and passes them at 90.degree. angle to their initial direction of travel into the utilization device via a port in the utilization device adapted to feed sheets upon request.

摘要: The production of offset stacks of business forms is effected in a continuous (i.e. without interruption) manner until a vertical stacker into which the forms are fed is full. Between a detacher and the stacker, the forms are automatically and continuously directed either to the left or the right from a common center line to offset the forms into different groups with at least one form in each group. This offsetting action may be accomplished by a pair of angled conveyor belts with steel balls movable into and out of association with the conveyor belts by solenoids, and/or by two sets of diverter wheels which are also angled and which are moved up out of engagement with the forms or down into engagement with them. Edge guide rods are provided which are part of transport aligning mechanisms that are movable toward and away from each other to accommodate different form widths. Sensors are provided for sensing the first and/or last form in each group, and operate through a controller to switch the offsetting action.

摘要: A paper money conveying equipment, comprising a driving roller and a driven roller which rotate to convey paper money in the predetermined direction. The driven roller is supported by a supporting member and movable between a first contactable position with the driving roller and a second disengaged position from the driving roller. The driven roller is urged toward the first contactable position by the force of a coil spring. At the supporting member, a lifting member is equipped for moving the driven roller from the contactable position to the disengaged position against the urging force by the coil spring for easy removal of paper money when it causes jam between the rollers.

摘要: A device for rotating papers includes at least one conveyer belt for moving each paper through the device, at least one ball for rolling on top of each paper moving on the conveyer belt for holding the paper in position, retaining rails extending over the conveyer belt for rotatably retaining the ball, a fulcrum assembly positioned adjacent to the conveyer belt for stopping part of each paper while the belt pulls the paper radially around the fulcrum assembly, thereby rotating the paper. The fulcrum assembly preferably includes a fulcrum ball which rests against a paper support plate for wedging the paper when it makes contact with the fulcrum ball between the fulcrum ball and the support plate. A method for rotating papers includes the steps of placing the papers sequentially on at least one conveyer belt, holding the papers against the belt with at least one ball riding on top of the papers which is free to rotate but is retained against linear movement, blocking the path of part of each paper with a fulcrum and moving the remainder of the paper around the fulcrum with the belt so that the paper rotates around the fulcrum.
