摘要: A continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a method is provided for CVT variator gross slip detection includes determining if a difference between a commanded variator speed ratio and a real variator speed ratio is greater than a predetermined variator speed ratio threshold, and then determining if a variator rate of change ratio is outside of predetermined variator rate of change ratio limits. Further, the method includes determining if a real torque capacity ratio is greater than a predetermined torque capacity ratio threshold, and performing at least one remedial action when the variator rate of change ratio is outside of predetermined variator rate of change ratio limits, and the real torque capacity ratio is greater than the predetermined torque capacity ratio threshold when the difference between the commanded variator speed ratio and the real variator speed ratio is greater than the predetermined variator speed ratio threshold.

摘要: A protection control selection unit is provided. The protection control selection unit selects control that uses one of a completely engaging heat generation amount and a releasing heat generation amount, by which the amount of heat that is generated in a lockup clutch is reduced. The completely engaging heat generation amount is generated in the lockup clutch in a period before the lockup clutch is completely engaged from a state of lockup engagement control. The releasing heat generation amount is generated in the lockup clutch in a period before the lockup clutch is released from the state of the lockup engagement control. Thus, an increase in the temperature of the lockup clutch at the time when the lockup clutch is completely engaged or released from the state of the lockup engagement control is suitably suppressed.

The transmission control module includes a transmission characteristic changing module which changes a control characteristic of transmission hydraulic pressure according to an engagement degree of the connection/disconnection mechanism.

摘要: A method for monitoring a transmission range selector connected to a transmission of a powertrain system is described. The transmission range selector indicates one of a plurality of ranges including Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Drive. The method includes, upon detecting a change in a target transmission range, monitoring whether a signal output from an on-board sensor indicates an achieved range position of the transmission. When the signal output from the on-board sensor does not indicate that the target transmission range has been achieved, monitoring a transmission incorrect direction metric, monitoring a transmission unintended propulsion metric, and monitoring a metric associated with achieving the target transmission range. A fault is detected when any one of the transmission incorrect direction metric, the transmission unintended propulsion metric and the target range achievement elapsed time metric is exceeded.

摘要: A method for monitoring a fixed-gear transmission includes deriving a node speed relationship for each of the planetary gear sets based upon a center distance and a gear ratio and determining equivalent speed parameters for nodes of the planetary gear sets based upon a transmission input speed state, an intermediate node speed state and a transmission output speed state. A clutch slip speed relationship is determined for each of the clutches based upon the node speed relationships for the planetary gear sets and the equivalent speed parameters for nodes of the planetary gear sets. Rotational speed sensors monitor the input transmission speed, the intermediate node speed and the transmission output speed. A clutch slip speed for each of the clutches is determined based upon the respective clutch slip speed relationship and the monitored input transmission speed, the monitored intermediate node speed and the monitored transmission output speed.
