    摘要: Optical code signal components are generated and then transformed into signal bearing art that conveys machine readable data. The components of an optical code are optimized to achieve improved signal robustness, reliability, capacity and/or visual quality. An optimization program can determine spatial density, dot distance, dot size and signal component priority to optimize robustness. An optical code generator transforms tiles of an optical code or image embedded with the optical code into signal-bearing art using stipple, Voronoi, Delaunay or other graphic drawing methods so as to retain prioritized components of the optical code. The optical code is merged into a host image, such as imagery, text and graphics of a package or label, or it may be printed by itself, e.g., on an otherwise blank label or carton. A great number of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an encryption processing unit, a storage unit, a decryption processing unit, a decryption processing unit, and an image output unit. The encryption processing unit encrypts non-compressed image data that is not compressed and indicates a raw image as a target of the forming to generate encrypted image data. The storage unit stores the generated encrypted image data. The decryption processing unit decrypts the stored encrypted image data to restore the non-compressed image data. The image output unit forms the print image on the print medium using the non-compressed image data to output a printed matter. The image forming apparatus regards and processes the encrypted image data as the non-compressed image data to generate encryption confirmation image data indicating an encryption confirmation image, so as to associate and then display the encryption confirmation image with the printed matter using the encryption confirmation image data.

    摘要: A method is provided for inserting a digital watermark in an image by an insertion device. Inserting includes: applying a Fourier transform to the image, delivering a 2D Fourier spectrum; inserting the watermark in the Fourier spectrum delivering a modified Fourier spectrum; and applying an inverse Fourier transform to the modified Fourier spectrum delivering a watermarked image. The watermark includes a set of watermarking coefficients each associated with a distinct determined position of a given quadrant among the quadrants of the Fourier domain, the spectral coordinates u and v of which, measured along the two axes of coordinates of the given quadrant and starting from the continuous component and expressed in percentage of the dimensions U and V of the given quadrant, are such that: u>66%×U and v>66%×V. The set of positions associated with the watermarking coefficients defines a convex pattern in the given quadrant.

    摘要: An ultraviolet image pattern is created on a recording medium having florescence properties and being a first color by electronically creating a first electronic pattern ink, the first electronic pattern ink including a second color and including holes, the holes representing areas in the first electronic pattern ink wherein the second color is absent; electronically creating an electronic image region having a pattern; electronically painting, using the first electronic pattern ink, a background of the electronic image region and the pattern of the electronic image region; electronically painting a predetermined portion of the holes with a third color, the third color matching the first color of the recording medium; and rendering, using marking materials, the electronic image region on the recording medium such that the florescence properties of the recording medium are only visible through the holes not painted with the third color when viewing the recording medium using ultraviolet illumination.
