Abstract:
A method enables replacement of a gas turbine engine combustor liner. The combustor has a combustion zone formed by inner and outer liners. A plurality of cooling features are formed by overhanging portions of the inner and outer liner liners. The method comprises cutting through at least one of the combustor inner and outer liner aft of an overhanging portion, wherein the portion of the combustor liner upstream from the cut remains coupled within the combustor, removing the portion of the combustor liner that is aft of the cut, and installing a replacement liner within the combustor such that the replacement liner extends aftward from the portion of the combustor liner that is upstream from the cut.
Abstract:
A circular-shaped metal structure is fabricated by plastic-working and has a wall thickness in the range of 0.03 mm to 0.09 mm both inclusive. A film composed of one of (a) silicon and fluorocarbon resin and (b) copper is coated on a surface of the circular-shaped metal structure.
Abstract:
A roller comprising a roller core and a roller covering being composed of an elastomer or elastic plastic material is characterized in that the elastomer or elastic plastic material of the roller covering cadditionally comprises fluorinated polyolefin. Preferably, from 0.2 to 25% by weight of a fluorocarbon plastic, in particular of polytetrafluoroethylene powder or fiber, is incorporated into the roller coating material to improve the ink-repellent properties of the roller covering. In one embodiment, the fluorinated polyolefin is employed in the form of a fibrous material, e.g. a web or the like, provided with the coating material and wrapped around the roller to form a surface layer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an embossing roll for embossing running webs of material and a method of making that roll. More particularly, the present invention is an embossing roll of a hard elastomer surface that can be engraved and subsequently plated to form a protective wear-resistant surface.
Abstract:
In order to provide a miniaturized ink jet head having a piezoelectric actuator 21 by which ink in a pressure chamber 3 is emitted and to improve its productivity and reliability, a vibration plate 22 is made up of two layers having different Young's moduli, i.e., a layer 27 having a smaller Young's modulus and a layer 28 having a greater Young's modulus. Further, the Young's modulus of each of the layers 27 and 28 is set at values ranging from 50 GPa to 350 GPa and the total thickness of the vibration plate 22 is set at values ranging from 1 nullm to 7 nullm.
Abstract:
A magnetic roll, such as for use in a xerographic printing apparatus, is formed from two semicylindrical partial cylinders. The partial cylinders can be molded and attached to each other to form a complete cylinder defining magnetic poles along the circumference thereof.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a charge roller utilizes a foam rubber substance where epichlorohydrin oxide rubber and an acrylonitrile butadiene rubber are mixed at a ratio of 5:95, or utilizing a crosslinking rubber substance consisting of epichlorohydrin oxide rubber and acrylonitrile butadiene rubber having a polar low molecular polymeric characteristic, thus allowing the charge roller to maintain a low volume resistivity of 107 nullcm to 108 nullcm. As a result, the surface of a photosensitive drum can be charged by a minimum charging voltage, to thereby significantly reduce an amount of ozone. A method of manufacturing a charge roller employs peroxide as a cross linking agent for rapidly cross-linking molecular chains between an epichlorohydrin oxide rubber and acrylonitrile butadiene rubber forming a main composition of a foam rubber substance. Since a non-crosslinked low molecular polymeric substance existing at a resilient rubber is significantly reduced, the low molecular polymeric substance of the charge roller may not be migrated onto a surface of the photosensitive drum even if the charge roller is in contact with a photosensitive drum for a long time period during a stoppage of operation of an image forming apparatus, As a result, the charge roller may not cause an abnormal phenomenon on the surface of the photosensitive drum.
Abstract:
A drawn stainless steel magnetic development roll having a coating-free developer-receptive surface, and a process for making a development magnetic roll drawn from stainless steel and having a developer-receptive, non-abrasive integral surface. The present invention provides a process for making a novel magnetic roll by cold drawing stainless steel rolls to have a desired grooved surface finish, diameter, straightness, runout, and other mechanical tolerance requirements.
Abstract:
A manifold tube is formed from a straight length of thin wall tube initially having a uniform circular cross section. A first segment of the tube is left in its initial circular cross section configuration. The first segment includes an inlet end of the tube. A second segment of the tube is flattened to form opposed flat wall portions spaced apart by a distance smaller than the diameter of the circular portion and separated by side walls spaced apart by a distance greater than the diameter. An inlet fitting is attached to the inlet end of the tube. A bend is formed in the first segment of the tube between the inlet end and the second segment. Burner valves and on oven control valve are secured with metal-to-metal contact to the flat wall portions in the second segment of the tube.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the production of a flange sleeve (10) especially for a sliding bearing. A strip of material is cut into lengths corresponding to the later periphery of the flange sleeve. The strip section (14) thus arising is rolled to form a hollow cylindrical sleeve with an open butt joint (12) and a collar (20) is placed around one or two sides. The open butt joint is expanded in the region of the collar to form a V-shaped slit. One or several recesses (18a, 18b) are made in the region of the later open butt joint (12) on one or two of the longitudinal edges (16) of the strip section.
