An iron golf club head of a cavity type, specifically called a pocket type head, manufactured by forging to have a lowered center of gravity, capable of giving an excellent ball hitting sensation in hitting a golf ball. This iron golf club head is integrally provided by forging and includes a top 2 in an upper portion of the head, a face 3 at a front, a sole at a bottom, a back 5 at a rear. A main recess 7 is formed to extend toward the face 3 in the back 5, and a concavity 8 is formed by a bending process, to extend from the main recess 7 to the sole 4.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a golf club in which carry does not deteriorate even when a golf ball is struck in a lower position on a face portion. In a golf club constituted by a face portion 4 having a hitting surface, a sole portion 3 which forms a lower portion, and a crown portion 5 which forms an upper portion, the sole portion 3 of a driver club head 1 is improved. A deformation portion B which is capable of elastic deformation is provided in concavoconvex form on the sole portion 3 in a position near the face portion 4. This deformation portion B is constituted by a protrusion 10 which is formed such that the sole portion 3 forms an obtuse angle null, and a concave groove 11 which is formed in a direction linking a toe portion and a heel portion by a protrusion protruding towards the crown portion 5. In order to increase hitting distance, restitution in a lower position on the face portion is increased.

A hollow iron clubhead having a low center of gravity and enabling free selection of a material for the clubface can be readily produced by press working. The hollow iron clubhead mainly comprises a clubface member, a front body member and a rear body member. A blank for forming the clubface member, a blank for forming the front body member and a blank for forming the rear body member are prepared by blanking. The clubface blank and the front body blank are integrally welded together and shaped by hot drawing to form the front body member. The rear body blank is shaped by hot drawing to form the rear body member. The front body member and the rear body member are integrally joined together by welding.
Abstract:
A method of fabricating a circular-shaped metal structure, includes the steps of (a) rotating a pipe around an axis thereof, the pipe being composed of a plastic-workable metal, and (b) applying drawing to an outer wall of the pipe with the pipe being kept rotated, to reduce a wall thickness of the pipe and lengthen a wall of the pipe. A resultant circular-shaped metal structure fabricated by the method could have a thickness equal to or smaller than 0.09 mm.

Provided is a fixing sleeve making it possible to reduce the surface roughness of the inner circumferential surface of the fixing sleeve by spinning, and a method for manufacturing the fixing sleeve. The spinning is performed by moving rollers, in the axial direction of a cup-shaped tubular body and, at the same time, a burnishing tool (spherical tool) is pressed against the outer circumferential surface of the cup-shaped tubular body after the spinning, and the burnishing tool is moved in the same direction as the rollers. The cup-shaped tubular body is plastically deformed in the axial direction of the cup-shaped tubular body, reduced in wall thickness, and elongated in the axial direction.

There is provided a golf club head capable of reliably preventing a backspin rate from varying in rainfall. A plurality of fine grooves are formed on a face surface 2. When observing a cross-sectional surface perpendicular to the face surface 2 involving a vertical line passing through the center G of gravity of the golf club head 1 with the golf club head 1 set at preset loft and lie angles, an average width of the fine grooves 4 in the cross-sectional surface is 100 μm or less and an average pitch thereof in the cross-sectional surface is 100 μm or less. Hence, the discharge of water can be accelerated by a capillary phenomenon, making it possible to reliably prevent a backspin rate of a golf ball from varying in rainfall.

Provided is a golf club which allows for hitting a golf ball long distance and enhancing the durability of the golf club. The golf club has: a body portion welded and integrally attached with a face portion made of a rolled material. A back surface of the face portion has at least one groove provided at a location lower than a center of gravity on a striking face of the face portion. The at least one groove is extending from a proximity of a toe portion to a proximity of a heel portion. Moreover, three grooves can be provided evenly spaced apart along a direction intersecting with a direction heading from the toe portion to the heel portion.

There is provided a golf club head capable of reliably preventing a backspin rate from varying in rainfall. A plurality of fine grooves are formed on a face surface 2. When observing a cross-sectional surface perpendicular to the face surface 2 involving a vertical line passing through the center G of gravity of the golf club head 1 with the golf club head 1 set at preset loft and lie angles, an average width of the fine grooves 4 in the cross-sectional surface is 100 μm or less and an average pitch thereof in the cross-sectional surface is 100 μm or less. Hence, the discharge of water can be accelerated by a capillary phenomenon, making it possible to reliably prevent a backspin rate of a golf ball from varying in rainfall.

A thin aluminum surface layer is formed on the outer peripheral surface of a tubular body of stainless steel material as a base layer to provide a fixing member. For forming the thin aluminum surface layer, arc thermal spraying apparatus is used such that material of a wire rod for thermal spraying is aluminum with purity of 99%, diameter of the wire rod is φ 1.2 mm, distance of thermal spraying is 120 mm, shifting velocity of the spraying gun is 20 mm/sec and air pressure is 0.5 MPa. Rotating the tubular body of stainless steel as a base layer at 150 rpm, thermal spraying of aluminum is performed with the spraying gun being shifted in the direction parallel to the axial direction of the tubular body of stainless steel as shown by the arrow. The thickness of the thermally sprayed aluminum surface layer is 20 to 30 μm.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a golf club improved in ball hitting sound and ball hitting feeling and its manufacturing method. First, low-carbon steel is subjected to press processing of hot forging to form portions of irregularity on the face on a side of a hitting surface. Then, when there are projecting portions in the portions of irregularity, only the projecting portions are subjected to press processing of cold forging to crush the projecting portions to be flat. Then, the surface is slightly smoothed by machining to be flat and crystal grains at the portions of irregularity and the area therearound are pressed to be fined, thereby enhancing the hardness and forming fiber flows parallel to the hitting surface. A part of the hardened face becomes harder than the hardness of a base material before press processing by 10% or more within a range of 1 mm in a depth.
