    Abstract: Apparatus for forming wooden members used to assemble wooden trusses includes a control computer receiving a batch list identifying each member included in each trusses. A first conveyor transports wooden members from an infeed chute to a finger-jointer joining wooden members end-to-end. A saw cuts the joined wood, and a second conveyor transports cut wooden members past a face printer for printing a component identifier on the face of such member, and past an edge printer for printing identifying assembled truss information upon an edge of selected members. A sensor detecting a member approaching the printers provides a signal to the control computer to synchronize printing by the face printer and to synchronize printing by the edge printer. The face printer and edge printer may be oriented perpendicular to each other. A related method is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A method for processing panel-shaped workpieces having the steps of providing a large-format panel, and feeding the large-format panel to a detachment station; detaching panel-shaped workpieces by dividing the large-format panel in the detachment station by making cuts in the large-format panel using a detachment unit; and feeding the workpieces thus detached to a downstream processing station in order to complete the panel-shaped workpiece. In step b) at least a part of each detached workpiece acquires from the detachment unit an alignment section for engaging gripping elements and/or introducing reference bores. After the workpiece provided with the alignment section has been detached it is taken over by a gripping element, engaging element or grasping element which engages the alignment section. After the workpiece is taken over, the gripping element, engaging element or grasping element engaging in a form-fitting manner on the alignment section of the workpiece runs through a cycle.

    Abstract: A wood-processing system having a buffer, which receives and buffers planar workpieces of wood materials or wood substitute materials, and a deposit device, onto which workpieces removed from the buffer can be deposited. At least one robot is included to remove the workpieces from the buffer and to deposit said workpieces on a deposit element of the deposit device and/or at another deposit location in the buffer. The system can be operated continuously, with workpieces being loaded sequentially into the buffer, removed from the buffer by the robot, and sorted onto the deposit device.

    Abstract: The invention refers to a method of joining a nogging to a stud to form a sub-module of a prefabricated building module. The method comprises the acts of: providing (1000) a stud (2) and orienting the stud with a longitudinal extension of the stud along a first direction (A); providing (2000) a nogging material having a longitudinal extension being greater than an intended length of the nogging, and orienting the nogging material with a longitudinal extension along a second direction (B) being transverse to the first direction (A); moving (3000) a first free end of the nogging material into abutment with a first side surface of the stud (2) and cutting the nogging material to form a first nogging (3a); fixating (5000) and joining the free end of the nogging (3a) with the stud (2); moving (6000) the stud (2) and the first nogging (3a) along the first direction (A); and moving (7000) the free end of the nogging material into abutment with the stud (2); cutting (8000) the nogging material at a distance from the abutment, thereby forming a second nogging (3b); and fixating (9000) and joining the stud (2) and the second nogging (3b).

    Abstract: An inverter manufacturing cell includes a table including a base, a frame configured to receive a work piece, and at least one pivotable lift arm attached to the base and to the frame. The pivotable lift arm is configured to pivot relative to the base about at least one axis such that the frame and work piece rotate from a first, generally horizontal position to a second, generally vertical position. After rotating to the second, vertical position, the frame is configured to slide such that the frame and work piece further rotate to a third, generally horizontal position wherein the frame and work piece are inverted relative to the first, generally horizontal position.
