    摘要: The present invention is concerned with a process for the filtering out of fibers form an air stream, in which process a stripping blade (3), for the purpose of cleaning, is moved along the surface of a filter (2) installed in a vacuum chamber (10). A controlled linear drive (51) is applied to the said stripper blade (3), by which the stripping blade (3) is made movable for the carrying out of a two phase operational motion along a linear path of travel. The end positions are located at opposite sides outside of the surface of the filter (2) in areas (A, B) wherein the stripping plate (3) is without contact with an opposing surface. During the first phase of travel, the fibrous material is scraped from the surface of the filter (2), while during the second phase of travel of the stripping blade (3) the said fibers are pressed against the filter (2) and the stripping plate (3) essentially moves back over the fiber without taking the said fibrous material with it. The low pressure in the filter chamber (12) is measured, and upon a drip in the measured low pressure to a point lower than a specified low pressure, the stripping blade is activated at least one time to carry out the said operational movement.

    摘要: An automated drafting system particularly suitable for drafting textile strands of sliver is provided. The automated drafting system includes a synchronous drive sliver drafting roller system utilizing toothed gears in the preferred embodiment operatively connecting a pair of drafting rollers with one of the rollers being directly driven by a motor to thereby cause identical rotation of both rollers. The automated drafting system also includes a system for securing and pressuring together upper and lower sliver drafting rollers wherein the lower roller of a pair of drafting rollers is preferably maintained in a fixed but rotational position while the upper roller of the pair is pressured towards the lower roller and controllably restricted as to both horizontal and vertical movement during the drafting process. A sliver autoleveling system using tongue and groove drafting rollers to sense sliver uniformity is also included in the automated drafting system utilizing linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs) to monitor vertical displacement of the upper roller of a roller pair relative to the lower roller. The automated drafting system further provides a feed-forward and feed-back autoleveling system for control of sliver drafting rollers utilizing an input sliver sensor and an output sliver sensor communicating with a computer to facilitate sliver uniformity. A draftless sliver coiler packaging system is still further provided by the automated drafting system and utilizes a sliver level sensor to controllably and automatically adjust the speed at which sliver is packaged subsequent to emergence from a variable speed sliver delivery system.

    摘要: A process of producing slivers for open-end spinning of wool or synthetic yarn and being characterized by eliminating the necessity for repeated doublings and draftings of the sliver while providing the desired uniform fiber distribution and weight in the sliver and yarn. Stock material is carded, then cross-lapped to reorient the fiber distribution, and again carded for producing a fiber web. This web is divided into relatively narrow rovings or strips of fibers and oriented into groups containing alternate strips of fibers from across the width of the fiber web. The respective strips of fibers from each such group are combined and formed into a sliver.

The distance between the drafting unit (6) and the compactor device (5) varies in a manner inversely proportional to the operating speed of the card (1A).     摘要: An automatic startup device includes a roll assembly for discharging the fiber web; a web transporting arrangement situated under the roll assembly for gathering and advancing the web; and a trumpet situated under the web transporting arrangement. The trumpet has separable parts between which the web in introduced. In a first position the two trumpet parts are at a relatively large distance from one another, whereby the web is discharged by the trumpet in a substantially unaltered state and in a second position the two trumpet parts are at a relatively small distance from one another, whereby the web is compressed and discharged by the trumpet as a sliver. There are further provided a web delivery arrangement under the trumpet for receiving and removing the web; and a calender roll pair arranged under the trumpet for receiving and advancing the sliver discharged by the trumpet.
