For adaptive line equalization of a time-division multiplexed analog signal, an offset-compensated filter circuit comprises a timing circuit for generating channel-switching signals respectively synchronized with the time slots of the TDM signal. A switched-capacitor filter comprising an operational amplifier and a switched-capacitor circuit is responsive to the channel-switching signals for sequentially establishing transfer functions specific to the time slots of the TDM signal. A plurality of switched-capacitor DC decoupling circuits are connected to the output of the switched-capacitor filter. These DC decoupling circuits are respectively associated with the channel-switching signals for coupling a respective one of the filtered components to an input terminal of a summing amplifier. Each of the DC decoupling circuits has a first and a second capacitor and switches responsive to the presence of the associated channel-switching signal for charging the first capacitor with a voltage developed at the output terminal of the switched capacitor filter and charging the second capacitor with a voltage developed between the output of the switched capacitor filter and the input terminal of the summing amplifier and discharging the first and second capacitors in response to the absence of the associated channel-switching signal. The operational amplifier offset voltage and clock feedthrough of the switched-capacitor filter are eliminated.

A resonant transfer filter is disclosed for use in a resonant transfer system having a normally open gate which is closed at a sampling frequency for the transfer of energy. The filter incorporates inductance elements and capacitance elements having values determined directly from the transmission function for filters in the resonant transfer mode developed by Cattermole and having a passband width of less than one-half of the sampling frequency. The filter element values are determined by first choosing a prototype filter configuration which approximates the system attenuation requirements and which is suitable for resonant transfer applications. The prototype element values are used as starting values which are revised or altered to decrease the difference between the Cattermole transmission function when computed using the starting element values, and later the altered values, and the ideal transmission function, equaling unity over the passband and zero in the stopband.

In one embodiment involving interhighway gate means connected between transmit and receive highways, the inhibit signal to the interhighway gate means which accomplishes splitting is also directed as an enable signal to the highway discharge gate. At times, such as during the ringing operation, only the transmit highway discharge gate is so controlled, and at other times, such as during trunk signaling, both transmit and receive highway discharge gates may be so controlled.
