    摘要: A supervisory circuit in a telephone switching system includes two current sensing transistors, each adapted to detect current flow in alternate directions through a subscriber''s loop serving one or more stations. The conductive or nonconductive state of the transistors in combination sequentially defines supervisory states which represent on- and off-hook indications, dialed digits, as well as party identification. The party identification is utilized to ascertain which of the plural stations served by a party line is presently instituting a call.

    摘要: Benes networks are very effective in providing inter-processor communication in SIMD parallel machines, provided the communication patterns are compile-time determinable. These networks are ill suited when communication patterns are dynamically varying because of the long set up time requirements. The present invention is a method for handling dynamically varying communication patterns efficiently by operating the Benes network in a time division multiplexed manner, wherein during a given transmission period, the middle stage switches of the Benes network are configured as a portion of the middle stage switches of a Clos network configured to route all signals in a single period.

    摘要: A transformerless bidirectional amplifier useful in a balanced two wire to single wire line circuit, which blocks common mode signals and allows full control of signal levels, impedances, etc. A differential amplifier circuit is connected to the balanced wires, and has its output connected through a buffer amplifier to a single unbalanced wire. A second differential amplifier has its respective input terminals connected to the input and output of the buffer amplifier. The output of the second differential amplifier is connected to one of the balanced wires, and through a resistor to one of the inputs of the first differential amplifier which is connected to the other of the two balanced wires. The value of the latter resistor is such as to apply sufficient output signal from the second differential amplifier to the first differential amplifier so as to cancel a signal from the second differential amplifier which is applied to the first differential amplifier via the first wire of the balanced pair. The second differential amplifier exhibits different gains for the respective two signals applied to its individual inputs which are from the output of the first differential amplifier, whereby they are cancelled.

    摘要: A line circuit includes a fixed resistance feed consisting of a pair of resistors connected in series with a d.c. power source and tip and ring leads of a communication line. A variable current feed includes a current sink and a current source also connected in series with the d.c. power source and the TIP and RING leads. Energizing current flow in the communication line results as the combination of currents passed by the two feeds. A control circuit determines the currents conducted by the current source and current sink and introduces variations in these currents in accordance with signals for transmission along the communication line. Differences between current flows in the variable current feed and current imbalance conditions on the communication line are accommodated by the fixed resistance feed which also determines the terminating impedance for the communication line.

    摘要: A trunk circuit for interconnecting an electronic and a step-by-step electromechanical switching exchange including a sensing circuit that is transparent to the transmission and supervisory signals. The sensing circuit consists of a pair of voltage dividers composed of at least four resistors each with the midpoint of each voltage divider connected to a voltage differential detecting means. The midpoints of the voltage dividers have substantially equal voltage levels in one state of the transmission path and have a measurable voltage differential in another state of the transmission path. Under conditions where a subscriber flash signal is not to be propagated through, the voltage dividers are arranged to have their resistance decreased, simulating an off-hook condition.
