Abstract: A non-contact non-destructive testing method includes spatially and/or temporally controlling a laser excitation light based on a predetermined pattern. The laser excitation light is projected onto a surface of a test object to generate acoustic waves on the test object. The acoustic waves apply stress loading to the test object. The method also includes imaging the test object with and without stress loading using shearography imaging, and analyzing shearography imaging data to determine a presence of a defect in the test object.

Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a method of forming an exfoliated or intercalated filler material is provided, wherein the said method comprises the steps of mixing particles of filler material such as montmorillonite (MMT), mica, layered double hydroxide (LDH), and attapulgite (AT) dispersed in an aqueous medium with cationic acrylate monomers to form modified particles comprising positively charged ions, dispersing the modified particles in organic medium to form a dispersion, contacting said dispersion with an organo-silicate such as tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and a functionalizing agent comprising an organo-silane such as aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS), in the presence of a basic catalyst to form a layer of silica on the modified particles. The present disclosure also relates to an exfoliated or intercalated filler material obtained by the said method as well as a method of forming a resin/clay nanocomposite.

Abstract: Described herein is an operationally simple, one-pot solid-supported preparation of saturated stapled peptides. Following completion of ruthenium-catalysed metathesis, solid-phase transfer hydrogenation was achieved using triethylhydrosilane at elevated temperatures. The utility of the method has been demonstrated on 14- and 16-mer peptides to yield the corresponding cyclic a-helix stabilised stapled peptides.
