Abstract: An acetal-based composition useful as a nucleating, gelling, thickening or clarifying agent is disclosed. The composition may be synthesized or provided in many different forms, including multicarbon diacetals formed from carbohydrates. Once synthesized, the compound may be employed as an additive in a plastic composition, such as (for example) a polypropylene copolymer. Co-additives may also be employed. Several aryl structures may reside upon the hydrocarbon chain backbone. One structure of such an acetal-based composition which happens to have two aryl-containing groups is shown: wherein: n is 0, 1 or 2; Ar1 and Ar2 are independently selected from substituted or unsubstituted aryl-containing groups; and R is selected from the group consisting of: alkenyls, alkyls, alkoxy, hydroxyl alkyls, and alkyl-halides.

Abstract: A foot valve and brake pedal assembly for use in a truck of the cab-over-engine (COE) type is disclosed herein. The truck itself includes a cab located over the truck's engine and having a front windshield and a front vertical firewall located below the windshield and defining a forwardmost extend of the cab's entire near the driver's feet. The cab also includes a nose hood mounted for pivotal movement between a closed position in front of the firewall and an opened position for gaining access to the firewall externally of the cab. The foot valve and brake pedal assembly is mounted to the firewall in a way which allows it to be removed as an assembled unit from outside the cab when the nose hood is in its opened position.

Abstract: A low-profile, right angle connector assembly comprises six cable connectors and six board-mount connectors housed within a PCIe bracket and EMI shell. The PCIe bracket and EMI shell are braced to a low profile PCIe card. Each board-mount connector is designed to receive a cable connector and allows for the transmission and processing of high-speed data with lower latency. A removable latch mounted on the cable connectors helps ensure the cable connectors remain physically connected to the board-mount connectors. The removable latch may be replaced as needed for breakage and wear and tear.
