    Abstract: A consumption meter arranged to measure a flow rate of a fluid, comprising: a tube with for passage of the fluid between an inlet and an outlet, multiple individual flow meters arranged at the tube to measure a sub-flow rate of the fluid, a first control circuit and communication interface arranged for receiving the measured sub-flow rate from each of the multiple flow meters, and being arranged to generate a signal indicative of the flow rate of the fluid according to the received sub-flow rates, each of the multiple individual flow meters comprising: a flow meter housing arranged at the tube; first and second ultrasonic transducers arranged in the flow meter housing for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals propagating through the fluid; a second control circuit arranged for operating the first and second ultrasonic transducers, and being arranged to generate the signal indicative of the sub-flow rate of the fluid accordingly; and a communication interface arranged for transmitting the signal indicative of the sub-flow rate to the first control circuit.

    Abstract: A consumption meter arranged to measure a flow rate of a fluid, the consumption meter comprising: a tube with two transducer holes in a wall of the tube; a meter housing arranged at the tube, comprising two transducer housings and a main housing; first and second ultrasonic transducers arranged in the transducer housings and arranged for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals propagating through the fluid; a control circuit arranged in the meter housing for operating the first and second ultrasonic transducers, and being arranged to generate a signal according to the flow rate of the fluid. wherein the transducer housing comprises: an internal transducer housing element arranged at an inner surface of the tube and an external transducer housing element arranged at an outer surface of the tube. The internal transducer housing element and/or the external transducer housing element are arranged to extent through the transducer hole in the wall of the tube and to engage. Whereby the transducer housing is fixated to the tube. The main housing is arranged to engage with the transducer housing to constitute a closed meter housing.

    Abstract: A smart metering device being part of an advanced metering infrastructure is provided. The smart metering device might comprise one or more sub devices such as: metering devices, actuator devices, sensor devices etc. The smart metering device includes a valve arranged to limit the delivery of a utility to the consumer. Moreover the smart metering devices includes a communication device including a transmitter and a receiver for wireless communication with a collector, utilizing a listen after talk mechanism to perform a two-way communication to the head end system through a collector. The presented invention is especially beneficial for battery supplied smart metering devices. The advanced metering infrastructure will provide a given service level for communication between the meter and the head end system. The service level will be changed dynamically in order to meet the adequate service level at all times.

    Abstract: A radio communication device comprising a radio frequency circuit and a microcontroller arranged to control the radio frequency circuit. The radio communication device further comprises: a radio frequency reference connected to the radio frequency circuit and arranged to be the frequency reference of at least the symbol frequency; a MCU and a time frequency reference connected to the microcontroller. The microcontroller is arranged to determine a frequency error of the time frequency reference relative to the radio frequency reference by performing the steps of: transmitting a radio signal, and signal a timing signal on a control interface, comprising information on start of transmission and end of transmission of the radio signal; receive the timing signal from the radio frequency circuit and measure a transmission duration of the radio signal with reference to the MCU frequency reference and calculate a frequency error of the MCU frequency reference relative to the radio frequency reference based on the measured transmission duration of the radio signal and the number of symbols and the symbol frequency. Further, the microcontroller measures a time period of the time frequency reference with reference to the MCU frequency reference; and calculate the frequency error of the time frequency reference relative to the radio frequency reference.

    Abstract: A water utility meter arranged to register the volume of water delivered to a consumption site through a distribution network and connect or disconnect the consumption site from the utility distribution network is disclosed. The water utility meter comprises: a flow sensor arranged to measure a flow rate and/or a volume of water delivered to the consumption site; a valve for connecting and disconnecting the consumption site from the distribution network; an actuator for opening and closing the valve; and a controller unit arranged to control the actuator. The controller unit is configured to connect the consumption site to the distribution network by operating the actuator to open the valve. After opening the valve the controller unit analyses flow rate and/or volume measurements from the flow sensor to determine if a reference profile is violated. If the reference profile is violated the controller unit will disconnect the consumption site from the distribution network by closing the valve.

    Abstract: The invention provides a pressure sensor device arranged for measuring a pressure in a fluid pipe system, e.g. a utility network. A measurement system with a pressure sensor serves to measure pressure in the fluid pipe system, and a data processing unit determines at least one statistical parameter in response to a plurality of pressure measurements. Data packets with the statistical parameter is then transmitted by means of a communication module, e.g. via a data network which serves for remote reading of utility meters. The statistical parameter is selected from the second, third and fourth statistical moments of the pressures measured with the plurality of measurements of pressure. The pressure sensor device in a battery driven form can be placed at remote locations in a fluid pipe system to monitor pressure transients, e.g. in a water distribution system. Especially, a time stamp may follow the statistical parameter(s) sent, such that it is possible to track pressure transient creating events on the fluid pipe system.

    Abstract: A turbidity measurement device for measuring turbidity of a fluid flowing in a flow tube. A first transducer transmits ultrasonic signals through the fluid in the turbidity measurement section so as to provide a first ultrasonic standing wave between the first and second section ends. A receiver transducer receives the ultrasonic scattered response from particles in the fluid flowing through the turbidity measurement section. A control circuit operates the transducers and generates a signal indicative of the turbidity of the fluid in response to signals received from the receiver transducer. Preferably, the device may comprise a second transducer for generating a second ultrasonic standing wave with the same frequency, and further the two transducers may be used to generate a measure of flow rate by means of known ultrasonic techniques. This flow rate may be used in the calculation of a measure of turbidity. Both turbidity facilities and flow rate facilities may be integrated in a consumption meter, such as a heat meter or a water meter.

    Abstract: A consumption meter for measuring consumption data of a supplied utility is provided, the consumption meter comprising: a housing with an opening, where the housing forms a closed compartment when the opening of the housing is closed with a cover; a communication module provided in the closed compartment; a front plate provided in the closed department and arranged adjacent to the cover, wherein the front plate has a first front plate surface facing the cover, and a second front plate surface facing opposite; and an antenna comprising an antenna body with an antenna conductive element, which is connected to the communication module; wherein the front plate has an indentation arranged between the first and the second front plate surfaces, and wherein the antenna body is arranged in the indentation. The consumption meter provides an antenna with a high transmission performance. Further, the antenna is mechanically supported, and is arranged inside the closed compartment, eliminating the need of any feedthrough across the housing wall.
