    摘要: A satellite propulsion system and methods of operating the same include a first ionization stage and a second acceleration stage. The first ionization stage has a plasma source configured to produce an arc discharge and emit a preliminary plasma. The plasma source includes an external magnetic field configured to magnetize the arc discharge. The second acceleration stage has an accelerator positioned in series with the plasma source. The accelerator is configured to accelerate the preliminary plasma out through the accelerator, thereby creating an accelerated plasma flow. The application of an activation threshold voltage to the accelerator results in a surge in system performance parameters.

    摘要: Waveforms in power grids typically reveal a certain pattern with specific features and peculiarities driven by the system operating conditions, internal and external uncertainties, etc. This prompts an observation of different types of waveforms at the measurement points (substations). An innovative next-generation smart sensor technology includes a measurement unit embedded with sophisticated analytics for power grid online surveillance and situational awareness. The smart sensor brings additional levels of smartness into the existing phasor measurement units (PMUs) and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). It unlocks the full potential of advanced signal processing and machine learning for online power grid monitoring in a distributed paradigm. Within the smart sensor are several interconnected units for signal acquisition, feature extraction, machine learning-based event detection, and a suite of multiple measurement algorithms where the best-fit algorithm is selected in real-time based on the detected operating condition. Embedding such analytics within the sensors and closer to where the data is generated, the distributed intelligence mechanism mitigates the potential risks to communication failures and latencies, as well as malicious cyber threats, which would otherwise compromise the trustworthiness of the end-use applications in distant control centers. The smart sensor achieves a promising classification accuracy on multiple classes of prevailing conditions in the power grid and accordingly improves the measurement quality across the power grid.

    摘要: A photonic device that includes two electrodes and a two-dimensional (2D) material electrically connecting the two electrodes. The 2D material may be molybdenum ditelluride. Strain may be induced in the 2D material (e.g., by placing the 2D material on a waveguide) to reduce the band gap of the 2D material and increase the efficiency of the photodetector. The photonic device may be a photodetector with 2D material that absorbs light energy and converts it into a photocurrent in a circuit that includes the two electrodes. The photonic device may be an emitter with 2D material that emits light energy in response to an electric field across the two electrodes. The photonic device may be a modulator with 2D material that modulates a property of an optical signal (e.g., the amplitude or phase) by modulating the amount of strain induced in the 2D material.

    摘要: An interconnection network for a processing unit having an array of cores. The interconnection network includes routers and adaptable links that selectively connect routers in the interconnection network. For example, each router may be electrically connected to one or more of the adaptable links via one or more multiplexers and a link controller may control the multiplexers to selectively connect routers via the adaptable links. In another example, adaptable links may be formed as part of an interposer and the link controller selectively connect routers via the adaptable links in the interposer using interposer switches. The adaptable links enable the interconnection network to be dynamically partitioned. Each of those partitions may be dynamically reconfigured to form a topology.

    摘要: A binary code similarity detection system that compares a target binary code to a source code by comparing the target binary code to a comparing binary generated by compiling the source code. Rather than using a comparing binary generated using a random or fixed compiling configuration, the system identifies the compiling configuration of the target binary code and compares the target binary code to a comparing binary generated using the same compiling configuration as the target binary code. The compiling configuration of the target binary code may be identified by a neural network (e.g., a graph attention network trained on attributed function call graphs of binary codes with known compiling configurations). The target binary code and the comparing binary may be compared using a graph neural network (e.g., a graph triplet loss network) that compares attributed control flow graphs of the of the target binary code and the comparing binary.
