摘要: A light modulation type photointerrupter includes: a light source that emits a light pulse to a transit area where an object transits; a driving circuit that drives the light source to emit the light pulse; a photoreceptor that converts the light pulse from the transit area into a pulse current and outputs the pulse current; an integrating circuit that integrates a pulse signal resulting from the pulse current and outputs a result of the integration, the integrating circuit having different time constants at a rise and at a fall of the pulse signal; and a detecting circuit that detects, based upon the output from the integrating circuit, presence or absence of the object in the transit area. The light source is driven to emit a pulse, which reduces the loss of power in the light emitter and the consumption of the current.

摘要: Provided is a storage control unit capable of, even when a failure occurs in access from a control unit to storage devices and the access from the control unit to the storage devices is switched to access via an alternate path, continuing I/O access to the storage devices without interrupting I/O requests from a host. The present invention provides a storage control unit having dual control units wherein a controller in one control unit, that has received an I/O request from a host, issues an I/O request to an initiator in another control unit using a control path between the controllers in the control units, and the initiator that has received this I/O request accesses the target storage device(s) via a connection path based on that I/O request.

摘要: The computer system of the present invention has a plurality of SAS target devices, an SAS initiator device, and a service delivery subsystem that is connected to each SAS target device by means of a physical link that is physical wiring and connected to the SAS initiator device by means of a wide link constituted by a plurality of physical links. The SAS initiator device controls how many physical links in the wide link are allocated to a particular SAS target device, whereby access from the SAS initiator device to the SAS target device is made via a physical link that is allocated to the SAS target device and is not made via a physical link that is not allocated to the SAS target device.

摘要: A comparator circuit includes a differential amplifier including load resistors, for amplifying difference between two input voltages of the comparator circuit; an emitter follower circuit for applying positive feedback with respect to a differential amplifier and outputting an output voltage of the comparator circuit; and a grounded-base amplifier, and outputting an output voltage of the comparator circuit, for realizing both voltage output and current output. A grounded-base amplifier includes two transistors each of which has a base supplied with a reference voltage. The differential amplifier includes two load resistors respectively connected to each emitter of the transistors of the grounded-base amplifier. The load resistor flowing a current which is obtained through a collector of the transistor as an output current of the comparator. With this arrangement, it is not necessary to provide a current switch circuit for obtaining current output of the comparator circuit.

摘要: Originals are fed onto a platen glass one by one by an automatic original feeder to be read out by a reading system. The originals are converted into digital image data. The image data is transferred to a memory unit. The memory unit is controlled by a CPU. The memory unit is configured of an image memory, a sentence direction recognizing portion, an RAM producing a management table, an original direction (top and bottom direction) recognizing portion, a rotation processing portion, a sign memory and the like. Based on top and bottom directions of original images and directions in which sentences run included in the images, arrangement of images in a 2in1 or 4in1 mode is determined.

摘要: In an image forming apparatus for reading a document image and forming the document image on a paper, document image data are divided into a plurality of blocks and the document image data are compressed in the unit of block to be stored in a first memory device. The data read from the first memory device are expanded in the unit of block to be stored in a second memory device. Compression time and expansion time are estimated and image output start time for a printer is set based on the compression and expansion times before expansion of all the blocks is completed. In a different way, the start time is set to read data from a second memory device by a printer for printing, after estimation based on expansion time on data not yet expanded by an expansion device. In a still different way, predetermined form data such as page number are superposed with image data. The form data is drawn first in a page memory device and expanded image data are superposed next in the page memory device. Print is started by taking drawing time of the form data into account.

摘要: A digital copying machine as an example of an image forming apparatus sets a copying operation time period per sheet based on the size of a copying sheet. If the remaining number of sheets corresponding to an expendable in the digital copying machine decreases, time at which this expandable runs out is displayed, and time at which a discharge tray is filled is displayed if the number of sheets to be discharged onto the discharge tray is expected to exceed a fixed value. As a result, an image forming apparatus permitting an operator to smoothly perform processings with the apparatus if a copying operation to a set of documents formed of a plurality of sheets cannot be completed.

摘要: An image processing apparatus includes a copying machine and a central processing apparatus provided with a facsimile function. When originals are distributed to a plurality of destinations, a destination list is stored in the central processing apparatus in advance. At this time, as to the destinations to which originals are transmitted through the facsimile, telephone numbers thereof are simultaneously stored. The central processing apparatus controls the copying machine and the facsimile function on the basis of the stored data, so that originals are sent by the facsimile to places to which they should be sent by the facsimile, and also copied originals are sent to places to which they should, respectively.

摘要: A dc-stabilized power circuit which has a PNP-type output transistor that is connected between input and output terminals, a base-driving circuit for controlling the driving current of the base of the output transistor in response to the difference between a voltage obtained by voltage-dividing the output voltage from the output terminal and a reference voltage that has been preliminarily determined, and a driving-current suppressing circuit for detecting a voltage between the input and output terminals and for suppressing a driving current released by the driving-current supplying means based upon the result of the detection. The greater the input-output voltage, the further the driving-current suppressing circuit suppresses the driving current from the base-driving circuit to the output transistor, thereby suppressing the output current. Thus, in a dc-stabilized power circuit of a low-loss type which has no current-detecting resistor connected in the output line and which is provided with a control circuit that is constructed as an integrated circuit and that supplies a driving current to the base of the output transistor in response to the output voltage, the power loss due to the output transistor is suppressed to not more than a predetermined level; therefore, it is possible to prevent damage to the output transistor beforehand.
