    Abstract: Resource Unit (RU) allocation in mesh networks is provided via identifying devices engaged in wireless communication over a shared channel in a mesh network, the devices including a first Access Point (AP), a second AP in wireless communication with the first AP via a first backhaul connection, and a third AP in wireless communication with the first AP via a second backhaul connection; determining a first demand for bandwidth in the shared channel over the first backhaul connection and a second demand for bandwidth over the second backhaul connection; and assigning RUs to the first backhaul connection based on the first demand relative to a total bandwidth demand within the shared channel and to the second backhaul connection based on the second demand relative to the total bandwidth demand the shared channel, wherein the total bandwidth demand includes the first demand and the second demand.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein describe mirroring slices in a 5G domain (or network) in a Wi-Fi domain (or network). A slice in a 5G domain allows a service provider to establish a separate network within the 5G network which can have a different minimum bandwidth, minimum latency, a quality of service (QoS) level, a certain application must be proximate to the client devices, and a service level agreement (SLA) relative to the other slices. The embodiments herein can mirror the traffic isolation and flexibility of 5G slices in a Wi-Fi network by using resource units (RUs). The AP can assign RUs in a manner to match the bandwidth and latency of the corresponding 5G slice. Further, the AP controls which client devices can use the RUs and can ensure that only the client devices that can use the same 5G slice can use the same RUs.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein describe techniques for conveying performance parameters to client devices using BSS coloring. IEEE 802.11ax introduced BSS color to help with interference between BSSs operating in the same channel or partially overlapping channels in a frequency band. The BSS colors are typically assigned at random. However, in the embodiments herein, the BSS colors can still be relied to help with co-channel interference as intended by IEEE 802.11ax but also can convey performance parameters to the client devices. The AP can leverage the BSS color to convey (or encode) a performance parameter such as radio frequency (RF) conditions, quality of service (QoS) conditions, or a policy of the network in response to expected (or future) conditions to receiving client devices.
