    Abstract: Aspects described herein include an exclusionary approach for basic service set (BSS) color selection and assignment in a network. A network controller for a network selects a radio associated with an access point (AP) under management of the network controller and determines a potential set of BSS colors for the radio. The network controller then removes/excludes a set of BSS colors that impacts the radio from the potential set of BSS colors and updates or assigns a BSS color for the selected radio using the potential set of BSS colors, minimizing the chances that the assigned BSS color will cause an overlapping BSS color condition in the network.

    Abstract: A method is performed at a first multilink device configured to communicate wirelessly with a first radio and a second radio of a second multilink device. The method includes accessing a set of parameters for a known mathematical model that establishes a frequency separation to be imposed between transmission from the first radio and reception at the second radio in order to achieve a predetermined reception performance at the second radio when the transmission and the reception are simultaneous. The method further includes, using the known mathematical model, computing the frequency separation based on the set of parameters.

    Abstract: Networked sleep mode management is provided by measuring network conditions for a first Access Point serving a plurality of client devices configured to operate in one of a sleep mode and an active mode; in response to detecting an amount of network usage devoted to transitioning members of the plurality of client devices from the sleep mode to the active mode satisfies a threshold: identifying a first subset of client devices from the plurality of client devices that are in the sleep mode; identifying a given client device from the first subset of client devices to transition to the active mode; and transmitting a tear-down message to the given client device that instructs the given client device to transition from the sleep mode to the active mode.

    Abstract: Augmenting a neighbor report with uplink Received Signal Strength Indicators (RSSIs) may be provided. First, a conducted transmit power value of a client device may be determined. A plurality of RSSI uplink values respectively corresponding to a plurality of Access Points (APs) may then be determined. Next, a plurality of RSSI downlink values respectively corresponding to the plurality of APs may be determined based on the respective plurality of RSSI uplink values, a respective plurality of conducted transmit power values corresponding to the plurality of APs, and the conducted transmit power value of the client device. A plurality of quality metrics respectively corresponding to the plurality of APs may then be determined based on the determined plurality of RSSI uplink values and the determined plurality of RSSI downlink values. Then, a neighbor report may be optimized based on the plurality of quality metrics.
