    摘要: According to the present invention, there is disclosed a capping device for an ink jet printer which is constructed such that a cap supporting member 14, adapted to move from the non-capping position to the capping position by the thrust action of a carriage 3, is arranged on the home position side of the ink jet printer so that the outer end part of the cap supporting member 14 is displaced toward the nozzle surface of a printing head 4 with the aid of a guide surface 15b having an inclined surface 15a, until a cap 5 on the cap supporting member 14 is brought into close contact with the nozzle surface of the printing head 4 with an adequate intensity of thrust force by means of a turnable lever 8 operatively connected to the inner end of the cap supporting member 14, while resilient force of a cap spring 11 is exerted on the base end part of the turnable lever 8 so as to normally bias the cap supporting member 14 in the direction toward the printing head 4.

    摘要: A printing apparatus includes a head which discharges color inks and into which clear ink that prevents the head from being clogged and white ink are selectively filled. A selection portion communicates either of a white or a clear ink container with the head. A controller executes a first switching from a second filled state where the head is filled with clear ink to a first filled state where the head is filled with white ink by shifting from a state where the clear ink container is communicated with the head to a state where the white ink container is communicated with the head. A second switching is executed from the first filled state to the second filled state by shifting from a state where the white ink container is communicated with the head to a state where the clear ink container is communicated with the head.

    摘要: A recording apparatus includes a support drum which rotates while supporting a recording medium on a support surface thereof. A guide shaft of the recording apparatus is spaced apart from the support surface by a predetermined distance and extends in parallel to a direction perpendicular to a rotation direction of the support drum. A carriage which is guided by the guide shaft is reciprocally moved along the support surface. A recording head mounted on the carriage ejects an ultraviolet curing ink toward the recording medium. An ultraviolet ray irradiation unit irradiates ultraviolet rays to the ultraviolet curing inks which are ejected from the recording head. In operation, the carriage is moved along the guide shaft so as to form an image formed by the ultraviolet curing ink and a coat ink over the overall surface of the recording medium supported by the support drum.
