摘要: Techniques for providing camera based code reading are disclosed. In some aspects, a camera-readable code is generated which may be read by a code reading device. The code reading device may capture an image of the code, process the image, and decode the code. The code includes symbols arranged to form a pattern. According to one or more embodiments, an image with the code is cropped to remove extraneous information. The code image is manipulated by exact binary segmentation to remove background information from the code. The code is oriented to a grid using an interval value defined between the symbols. The symbols are decoded by comparing unique aspects of the symbols using a statistical analysis. The decoded symbols may be converted to a message for a user or be used for other purposes.

摘要: A process and apparatus for determining the location of a captured array from a larger image is described. A non-repeating sequence may be folded into a non-repeating array in which the array is unique for every neighboring window of a given size. A portion of the array of the neighboring window may be captured and a subset of extracted bits corresponding to the captured array is decoded to identify error bits. The location of the captured array is determined within the non-repeating array by further processing the decoded bits.

摘要: Computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions and apparatuses detect a table in a handwritten document. Line segments are derived from drawing strokes so that a bounding frame of a candidate table is obtained. An associated table structure is consequently recognized from the bounding frame, lines segments within the bounding frame, and their intersection points. A classifier that reflects at least one table characteristic is determined, and the candidate table is consequently validated or rejected.

摘要: Disclosed embodiments of the invention relate to analyzing document images, which contain positionally encoded information, such as a maze-pattern watermark, and labeling the images based on a degree to which the document's content, such as text, occludes the position-encoding information. Depending on the degree of such occlusion, it may not be possible to extract enough position-encoding bits from a camera-captured image of the document to determine the camera-captured image's location within the document. An analysis-and-labeling module receives, as input, image data output by an image-generation-and-capturing module and off-line training data; performs analysis-and-labeling processing; and outputs image-label information. The results of document-analysis-and-labeling processing may be used for efficiently determining a location of a camera-captured image within a positionally encoded document.

摘要: A mechanism for recognizing and inputting handwritten mathematical expressions into a computer by providing a multi-path framework is described. The framework may include symbol grouping and recognition, tabular structure analysis, subordinate sub-expression analysis, subscript/superscript analysis and character determination, and semantic structure analysis components. A method for recognizing a handwritten mathematical expression includes receiving a plurality of input strokes corresponding to a handwritten mathematical expression and providing a candidate list of recognized candidate expressions based upon the input strokes. Input strokes are grouped into symbols, tabular structures are determined, dominant symbol candidates and subordinate symbols are determined, and subscript and superscript structures are determined.

摘要: Computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions and apparatuses categorize documents or corpus of documents. A Tensor Space Model (TSM), which models the text by a higher-order tensor, represents a document or a corpus of documents. Supported by techniques of multilinear algebra, TSM provides a framework for analyzing the multifactor structures. TSM is further supported by operations and presented tools, such as the High-Order Singular Value Decomposition (HOSVD) for a reduction of the dimensions of the higher-order tensor. The dimensionally reduced tensor is compared with tensors that represent possible categories. Consequently, a category is selected for the document or corpus of documents. Experimental results on the dataset for 20 Newsgroups suggest that TSM is advantageous to a Vector Space Model (VSM) for text classification.

The input device utilizes a rotating dial in which four arrows printed on the dial are rotated to select characters that are fixed along the circumference of a circle. The characters are divided into various zones. The zones are utilized to encode various letters and numbers. Additionally the zones may be utilized for editing and control functions. The dial may be freely rotated. Pressing any arrow inputs the character that the arrow points to on the dial. The input device and method may encode Asian language characters according to a set of encoding rules.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for processing electronic ink receive an electronic ink input; convert the electronic ink input to a first machine-generated object using handwriting recognition; display the first machine-generated object on a display; receive speech input; convert the speech input to a second machine-generated object using speech recognition; generate a list of machine-generated objects based on the electronic ink input, the list including the first machine-generated object and alternative machine-generated objects and functioning as a dictionary for converting the speech input; and replace the first machine-generated object with the second machine-generated object. A user may confirm that the second machine-generated object should replace the first machine-generated object. The systems and methods may generate a list of alternative machine-generated object candidates to the first machine-generated object based on handwriting recognition of the electronic ink input alone or in combination with a statistical language model.

Semantic attributes are automatically generated and eliminate the need for manual entry of attribute information. A semantic file network may further be constructed based on similarities between files that are based on the semantic attribute information. Semantic links representing a semantic relationship may be built between similar or relevant files. In addition, user operations and user operation patterns may also be considered in building the file network. Semantic attributes and information may further facilitate browsing the file systems as well as improve the accuracy and speed of queries.
