Abstract:
A board turner (1, 31) is intended for use on a conveyor (3) for transporting large volumes of boards. The conveyor (3) defines a plane for carrying boards (14) and the board turner (1, 31) has a rotation unit (4) and a gripping unit (7) mounted on the rotation unit (4). The gripping unit (7) has an open position and a closed position and is switchable between these positions in response to a signal from a sensor. In the open position, the gripping unit (7) rotates past the carrying plane without making contact with the synchronously arriving board (14). A signal from the sensor switches the gripping unit (7) between the open position and the closed position while the gripping unit (7) grips two opposite surfaces of a sideways extending part of the board (14) and continues to rotate above the belt conveyor (3) in order to turn the board (14) in this way.
Abstract:
To eliminate the temperature dependency of the quiescent current of a power transistor (1), the gate bias voltage of the power transistor (1) is controlled by means of the output voltage of a biasing transistor (3) residing on the same silicon chip as the power transistor (1), and by interconnecting the gate (G3) and drain (D3) of the biasing transistor (3) and feeding it with a constant current (IB) from external circuitry.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for storing data comprising an original identity(OID) and associated descriptive information(DI) are disclosed. By means of a first algorithm(ALG1), the original identity(OID) is encrypted to an update identity(UID) which, by means of a reversible algorithm(ALG2), is encrypted to a storage identity(SID) which is stored as a record(P) on a storage medium along with associated descriptive information(DI). At the times when storage identities(SID) of selected records(P) are to be replaced with new storage identities(SID'), the storage identities(SID) are decrypted in order to recreate the corresponding update identities(UID), which then are encrypted, by means of a new altered reversible algorithm(ALG2'), to new storage identities(SID') intended to replace the previous storage identities (SID).
Abstract:
Apparatus is disclosed for assembling timber output at the delivery end of a feed conveyor in packages of layers. The feed conveyor delivers timber pieces in equally spaced relationship. A transfer device is provided in direct connection to the delivery end of the feed conveyor and includes at least two carrier planes movable individually and after one another in a cyclic path. One carrier plane is always in a phase of its cyclic movement so as to constitute a continuation of the feed conveyor for receiving timber pieces delivered from the conveyor to form a layer. Each carrier plane during said phase of its cyclic movement moves ahead in agreement with the feed conveyor a distance equal to the width of the timber piece during the time the feed conveyor moves a distance substantially equal to the width of the timber piece and the spacing between them until a layer is completed.
