    摘要: A system and method are described for testing communication through a patient during implantation using telemetry coupling electrodes on a delivery catheter. In one example, at least two telemetry coupling electrodes may be placed on or within a delivery catheter to test conductive communication with external body electrodes during implantation. In some instances, the telemetry coupling electrodes of the delivery catheter may approximate the spacing of telemetry electrodes on an IMD. In this manner, testing conductively coupled communication with telemetry coupling electrodes of the catheter may be used to mimic the telemetry electrodes on the IMD and determine a target position and/or orientation of an electrode or electrodes of the IMD for successful conductive communication through the body.

    摘要: A medical device identifies a hemodynamically unstable arrhythmia based upon optical hemodynamic sensor signals. The optical hemodynamic sensor includes a light source for transmitting light corresponding to first and second wavelengths through a blood perfused tissue of a patient and a light detector for generating optical signals corresponding to an intensity of the detected light at the first and second wavelengths. At a low motion period for the patient, optical signals are obtained from the optical hemodynamic sensor and are analyzed to determine a baseline motion level for the patient. Subsequent signals obtained from the optical hemodynamic sensor are compared to the baseline motion levels, with only those signals corresponding to periods where motion does not exceed the baseline level of motion being further analyzed to determine if they are consistent with a hemodynamically unstable arrhythmia.

The system includes a second acoustical sensor adapted to be operatively positioned in a second internal body location for sensing sounds in the patient and generate a second signal that is less responsive to the heart sounds than the first acoustical signal. An implantable medical device including a housing and a processor enclosed in the housing receives the first signal and the second signal and generates a corrected first signal by canceling non-cardiac signals in the first signal using the second signal.
