Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing channel access in a WLAN system are disclosed. A method for managing a network allocation vector (NAV) by a station (STA) in a wireless LAN (WLAN) system includes: receiving a Contention Free (CF)-END frame including a duration field; if the CF-END frame is a first-type CF-END frame, resetting the NAV; and if the CF-END frame is a second-type CF-END frame, determining whether to reset the NAV according to a comparison result between a value of the duration field and a NAV value of the STA.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for updating system information in a wireless LAN system. A method for updating system information in a station (STA) of a wireless communication system may comprise transmitting, by the STA which stores system information and a configuration change count value of a previously linked preferred access point (AP), a probe request frame for active scanning to the preferred AP; and receiving a probe response frame from the preferred AP. Preferably, the probe request frame includes a configuration change count field previously acquired from the preferred AP, and if a value of the configuration change count field included in the probe request frame is different from a present configuration change count value of the preferred AP, the probe response frame may include one or more elements of system information which should be updated by the STA.
Abstract:
A method for gaining access according to one embodiment of the present invention in which a station (STA) gains access to a medium in wireless communication system comprises the steps of: sensing a carrier wave for a medium so as to transmit a set frame; and, if the medium is busy, executing a random back-off procedure, wherein the starting point of the random back-off procedure is indicated by a second parameter randomly selected from within a range in accordance with a first parameter.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for updating a listen interval in a wireless communication system. To this end, a method for updating a listen interval by a station (STA) of a wireless communication system may comprise, if an operation mode of the station is changed, a request frame including information indicating that the operation mode of the station is changed, to an access point (AP); and receiving a response frame in response to the request frame from the AP. If a value of a listen interval of the station is changed as the operation mode of the station is changed, the request frame further include a value of a new listen interval of the station.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention is a method for performing channel access using a first station (STA) in a wireless communication system, comprising: a step of receiving a traffic indication map (TIM) bitmap; and a step of attempting channel access for a wireless medium in a first time period indicated by the first TIM bitmap. The first STA attempts channel access for the wireless medium in a third time period which is one of the second time periods indicated by the TIM bitmap in the event that the first STA senses an operation of a second STA relating to the wireless medium in the first time period.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more specifically discloses a method and an apparatus for transceiving a beacon in a wireless LAN system. A method for receiving a beacon from a station (STA) in a wireless communication system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a probe response frame from an access point (AP); determining the time at which the next beacon is to be received by means of information regarding the next beacon contained in the probe response frame; and receiving the next beacon at the time determined for receiving the next beacon.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for setting a service period (SP) of a station (STA) in a wireless communication system and an apparatus for supporting the method. More particularly, the method comprises a step of transmitting a trigger frame to an access point (AP) and starting the service period. The trigger frame may be a data frame that includes data to be transmitted to the AP or a null frame for triggering the data transmission of the AP.
Abstract:
A channel access method in a wireless communication system and an apparatus for supporting the same are disclosed. Particularly, the method comprises the steps of: transmitting a beacon frame containing a traffic indication map (TIM); and receiving a power pave (PS)-poll frame within a PS-Poll section set in a station (STA), to which downlink data is designated by the TIM, from the STA, wherein the PS-Poll section can be set differently for each STA within the entire PS-Poll section set in all STAs, to which downlink data is designated by the TIM.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more specifically, to a method and apparatus for accessing channels in a wireless LAN system. The method for accessing channels in a station (STA) of the wireless communication system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of transmitting a first frame of a channel access request to an access point (AP); and receiving, from the AP, a second frame related to whether access to the channel is allowed in response to the first frame, wherein the second frame can include a value for a channel access start offset with respect to the STA.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more specifically to a method and an apparatus for channel access via a null data packet frame in a wireless LAN system. A method for channel access from a station (STA) in a wireless communication system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving, from an access point (AP), configuration information for one or more slots for channel access; transmitting a first frame from a particular slot from among the one or more slots; and receiving, from the AP, a second frame responding to the first frame, wherein the first frame can be a null data packet (NDP) frame.
