摘要： Disclosed is a method for improving the expression of Cry1A in plants that makes use of codons preferentially used in native plant genes. The coding sequence of the gene for the Bacillus thuringiensis delta endotoxin Cry1A crystal protein was analyzed and found to have codons not preferred by plants. By constructing a synthetic protein coding sequence that uses codons which are preferred in plant genes, expression of the protein in plant cells was improved.

摘要： An improved control method for a dual mode compressor drive arrangement selectively operates an electric machine coupled to the compressor as a motor or a generator during operation of an engine coupled to the compressor for improved efficiency and performance. The machine is operated as a generator to increase the available power for vehicle electrical loads when compressor operation is not needed or when the engine is driving the compressor. Conversely, the machine is operated as a motor to drive the compressor under heavy engine loading or when the engine speed is outside a desired operating range defined in terms of compressor speed.

摘要： A segmentation and reassembly circuit under the ATM standard uses a transmit cell schedule table (TCST) to support real time transmission of ATM cells in multiple constant bit rate virtual channels. In one embodiment, null cells are intentionally scheduled in a TCST. Transmission of the scheduled null cells ("forced null cells") or non-time critical cells are skipped to compensate for delays in an ATM cell transmission schedule, e.g. delays due to a bus latency. During such latency, null cells are generated from a null cell generator and a negative credit counter is incremented for each ATM cell transmission time missed. When transmission of a forced null cell is skipped, the negative credit counter is decremented.

摘要： A method is provided whereby tungsten values are recovered from ferrotungsten by completely oxidizing the ferrotungsten at high temperatures in an oxygen atmosphere followed by digestion with sodium hydroxide to form soluble sodium tungstate. The sodium tungstate is then purified by conventional means. The method may be used to recover at least about 90% of the tungsten values present in the ferrotungsten.
