    摘要: An optical pickup configured so as to reproduce signals recorded in optical disks of plural standards by means of a single laser beam. The optical pickup has an objective lens for gathering a laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser—which emits a laser beam of single wavelength—onto a signal recording layer provided in each of optical disks of first and second standards whose cover layers differ from each other in terms of a thicknesses. The first standard is; for example, a CD, and the second standard is; for example, a DVD. An optical path length correction member—in which there is formed an optical path length correction section for making a correction to an optical path length falling within a range smaller than the diameter of a light beam passing through the objective lens—is provided in an optical path between the semiconductor laser and the objective lens. The optical path length correction section may also be formed on a lens plane of the objective lens facing the semiconductor laser.

    摘要: A radiation image detector includes: a photoconductive layer that generates electric charges when irradiated by recording electromagnetic waves which have passed through an electrode layer; and detecting electrodes, for detecting signals corresponding to the electric charges generated in the photoconductive layer. The radiation image detector further includes: dielectrics that cover the edges of the detecting electrodes, the edges being the side surfaces and portions of surfaces continuous with the side surfaces of the detecting electrodes, that face the photoconductive layer; and a charge injection preventing layer, which is a conductor with respect to electric charges of the same polarity as the electric charges accumulated during recording of the image information, and an insulator with respect to electric charges of the opposite polarity from the accumulated electric charges, provided to cover at least the surfaces of the detecting electrodes that face the photoconductive layer which are not covered by the dielectric.

Upon facsimile transmission, the communication control unit requests the target apparatus for connection using the packets for call connection. When the target apparatus rejects the connection request, the communication control unit reissues a call to the target apparatus and requests the target apparatus for connection of a voice channel to establish the voice channel, and then the communication control unit receives a request for connection of a facsimile communication channel from the target apparatus to establish the facsimile communication channel.

    摘要: An alkaline solution of an alkali-soluble compound, which is selected from the group consisting of an alkali-soluble silicon compound and an alkali-soluble germanium compound, is prepared. Also, a water-soluble bismuth compound solution is prepared. The alkaline solution and the water-soluble bismuth compound solution are subjected to mixing processing with agitation at a temperature of at least 80° C. by use of a shearing type agitator and are thereby allowed to react with each other. Thus Bi12MO20 particles, in which M represents an element selected from the group consisting of Si and Ge, are produced. The produced Bi12MO20 particles have small particle diameters and uniform composition.

    摘要: An optical head having a semiconductor laser and a generation of a plurality of reflected light beams from an optical disk which have polarities of intensity distribution variations which are substantially inverted to each other when a periodic structure of the optical disk crosses at least one focused spot on the disk. An optical detection system splits the plurality of reflected light beams and detects the split reflected light beams. An electrical circuit provides a focus error signal of the at least one focused spot and a tracking error signal from the plurality of reflected light beams. The electrical circuit adds focus error signals provides a difference signal between the focus error signals, amplifies tracking error signals with a gain, and obtains a difference between amplified tracking error.
