Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to reference signal (RS) designs that allow for tracking loop updates and paging of UEs using various RSs. One example method includes identifying reference signal (RS) monitoring occasions for a user equipment (UE) in an idle or inactive mode; and transmitting, to the UE, reference signals in the identified RS monitoring occasions, the RS monitoring occasions being associated with RS for tracking purposes and RS for an indication the UE is to wake up to process additional signaling.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using an operating bandwidth part (BWP) that includes a first set of frequency resources. The UE may receive a group-common downlink control information (GC-DCI) message from the base station that includes a resource format indicator (RFI) for the UE (e.g., among multiple RFIs for a set of UEs in the GC-DCI) indicating a second set of frequency resources. The UE may modify the operating BWP based on the second set of frequency resources and communicate with the base station using the modified operating BWP. In some examples, the UE may switch the operating BWP to the second set of frequency resources or may reduce the operating BWP to a set of overlapping frequency resources between the first and second sets of frequency resources.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect, using a low-power receiver of the UE, a low-power synchronization signal (LP-SS) that is associated with a first coverage area that is larger than a second coverage area associated with a legacy synchronization signal block. The UE may monitor, using the low-power receiver, for a low-power wake up signal, based at least in part on the LP-SS, that is associated with a third coverage area that is larger than a fourth coverage area associated with a legacy wake up signal. A first device may obtain information indicative of a configuration to provide code block group (CBG)-based feedback for one or more semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) communications scheduled for the first device. The first device may then monitor for the one or more SPS communications in one or more CBGs of a TB in accordance with one or more SPS communication configurations. Based on the monitoring of the semi-persistent scheduling communications, the first device may generate one or more feedback bits associated with the one or more SPS communications, and may communicate, with a second device, the one or more feedback bits associated with the one or more SPS communications in accordance with the configuration to provide CBG-based feedback.

The one or more second CG-SDT occasions are at least partially nested, in time, frequency, or a combination thereof, within the one or more first CG-SDT occasions. The UE may therefore transmit, to the base station, an uplink communication within the one or more first CG-SDT occasions or the one or more second CG-SDT occasions, using the radio resource allocation and the transmission scheme. A user equipment (UE) may be receive a grant configuration including multiple set of parameters, and the UE may select a set of parameters from the configured grant based on a channel condition. In some examples, the UE may be configured to signal to a network (e.g., a base station) the selected set of parameters and their corresponding parameter values. For example, the UE may be configured to signal the selected set of parameters over semi-static signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) messaging) or dynamic signaling (e.g., medium access control-control element (MAC-CE) messaging, uplink control information (UCI) messaging, or the like). By configuring the UE with multiple set of parameters, the UE may adapt to changing channel conditions, which may provide higher reliability and lower latency for wireless communications, as well as reduce power consumption for the UE.

Generally, a base station may dynamically and reliably indicate that pending transmissions are part of a full duplex operation via downlink control information (DCI) designs described herein. For example, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE) a DCI including no more than one downlink grant and no more than one uplink grant for a full duplex operation. In some examples, the base station may transmit a first-stage DCI including partial information, and second-stage DCIs including full uplink and downlink grants for a full duplex operation. In some examples, the base station may configure periodic or semi-periodic uplink and downlink resources that may overlap in time, and may dynamically indicate, to the UE, whether the overlapping uplink and downlink resources are scheduled for a full duplex operation.

An energy harvesting device may transmit energy status information for the energy harvesting device, where the energy harvesting device may cycle between an energy harvesting mode and a wireless communication mode. During the wireless communication mode, the energy harvesting device may receive control signaling indicating to apply a first feedback process type (e.g., a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process) of multiple different feedback process types based on the energy status information. The energy harvesting device may receive a control message scheduling transmission of a message to the energy harvesting wireless device in a resource of a shared data channel. Accordingly, the energy harvesting device may monitor the resource for the message based on the control message and may transmit feedback information for the message in accordance with the indicated feedback process type.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a wideband bandwidth part (BWP) may be used for periodic communications bursts, and a user equipment (UE) may switch to a narrowband BWP between the communications bursts, which may provide reduced power consumption and reduced processing overhead at the UE. An end of burst indicator may be provided with the wideband BWP communications that indicates a timing for switching from the wideband BWP to the narrowband BWP. The end of burst indicator may be provided prior to a last downlink shared channel communication of the communications burst, and the UE may switch to the narrowband BWP upon completion of the last downlink shared channel communication. The UE may switch from the narrowband BWP to the wideband BWP for a subsequent communications burst autonomously or based on an explicit indication.
