Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for wireless communications in narrowband frequency bands using frequency hopping. In some implementations, a base station (BS) groups a plurality of hopping channels of a frequency hopping pattern into a number of groups based on a bandwidth part (BWP) hopping frequency of each hopping channel of the frequency hopping pattern. The BS transmits indications of the frequency hopping pattern and the grouping of hopping channels to user equipments (UEs). The BS transmits a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) on a first hopping channel, and receives channel state information (CSI) of the first hopping channel from one or more of the UEs. In some other implementations, a UE receives indications of the frequency hopping pattern and hopping channel groups, and determines CSI of the first hopping channel based on the received CSI-RS. The UE may transmit the CSI to the BS.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform a transmission detection procedure on each base station before combining control information. The UE may use demodulation reference signals (DMRS) as a detection mechanism. If the UE detects a DMRS from a base station, the UE may determine that a control resource set associated with the base station is valid for combining. If the UE does not detect DMRS from the base station, the UE may refrain from combining control information from the base station. In another example, base stations that pass a listen-before-talk (LBT) pr6ocedure may transmit a preamble before transmitting control information. A preamble may carry a preamble sequence associated with a specific control resource set. The UE may identify a preamble sequence and determine that the corresponding control resource set is valid for control information combining.

Abstract: Indication of transmission priority class is disclosed for sharing a base station's maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT) for use in autonomous uplink (AUL). Aspects of the disclosure provide for implicitly sharing the MCOT by providing an indication of transmission opportunity (TxOP) length. A serving base station sends an indication of a current TxOP length in control signals to a user equipment (UE). The UE may then infer a set of potential transmission priorities used by the serving base station according to the TxOP length, as TxOP length may relate to the MCOT, which itself may be associated with a particular transmission priority class. The UE may then, conservatively, select the highest transmission priority of the set of potential transmission priorities for autonomously transmitting any uplink data having at least the selected highest transmission priority within configured AUL resource of the current TxOP.

A first user equipment (UE) determines a transmission pattern for a first sidelink based on an extended DRX on-duration associated with a second sidelink different from the first sidelink, wherein the first sidelink is between the first UE and a second UE, and wherein the second sidelink is between the second UE and a third UE. The first UE transmits, to the second UE over the first sidelink during the extended DRX on-duration based on the transmission pattern, a communication signal.

Abstract: Sub-resource pools for transmission of new radio (NR) sidelink (NR SL) over unlicensed bands is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) capable for sidelink communications may receive a sidelink configuration message from a serving base station that includes identification of a plurality of channel access types associated with a plurality of sub-resource pools for autonomous sidelink access of a shared communication channel. The UE may obtain information for a sidelink transmission over a transmission resource pool allocated for the autonomous sidelink access and determine the plurality of sub-resource pools from available resources within the transmission resource pool according to a channel access type of each resource, wherein each sub-resource pool includes a subset of resources associated with a corresponding channel access type. The UE may then select a sub-resource pool for sidelink transmission and transmit the information on a transmission resource selected from the sub-resource pool.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device (base station or UE) may receive an indication of a listen before talk (LBT) gap for sharing a channel occupancy time (COT), the COT being acquired by another wireless device (base station or UE), and detect whether a slot within the COT is occupied by the other wireless device, the slot occurring prior to the LBT gap. The wireless device may also, responsive to detecting that the slot is occupied by the other wireless device, preform an LBT procedure during the LBT gap, and, responsive to a successful LBT procedure, transmit a signal to the other wireless device within the COT.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to autonomous sidelink communication in a shared radio frequency band (e.g., in a shared spectrum or an unlicensed spectrum) are provided. A first user equipment (UE) performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) in a shared radio frequency band during at least a portion of a first sidelink frame. The first UE determines a channel occupancy time (COT) in the shared radio frequency band based on the LBT. A beginning of the COT is within the first sidelink frame and offset from a boundary of the first sidelink frame. The COT includes one or more sidelink frames subsequent to the first sidelink frame. The first UE transmits, in the shared radio frequency band, a COT indication signal at the beginning of the COT within the first sidelink frame. The COT indication signal includes COT sharing information for UEs to share the one or more sidelink frames.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment may monitor for a transmission over a set of periodically scheduled resources (e.g., semi-persistently scheduled resources)) of a downlink shared channel in an unlicensed spectrum. The user equipment may receive the transmission, where the transmission indicates a channel access configuration (e.g., a listen-before-talk configuration) for accessing the unlicensed spectrum. In some cases, the transmission may include a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC-CE) that indicates the channel access configuration. The transmission may additionally indicate at least one uplink channel over which the user equipment may transmit a message and/or a channel occupancy time associated with a successful acquisition of the unlicensed spectrum by the base station. The user equipment may transmit a message (e.g., an acknowledgement) based on the channel access configuration.
