Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for causing to be provided reminders during consumption of a content item. The system detects subjects and the associations among them that are referenced in the content item and generates metadata with information about the associations. The metadata is used to determine, during later content item consumption, if at least one criterion for providing a reminder of the association is satisfied. For example, a criterion that at least two months must pass before a reminder is given regarding the relationship between characters in a video game is satisfied when a video game player has not been shown information about the relationship in three months. Accordingly, the system causes to be displayed the reminder of the association when the at least criterion is satisfied.

Abstract: The system and methods described herein provided storyline summaries of missed content to users timed to reduce interruptions of content. A summary application detects missed content, that comprises a plurality of storylines. The summary application also identifies a storyline of current content being generated for presentation and retrieves a storyline-specific summary of a portion of the missed content comprising the current storyline. The summary application then generates, for presentation, the retrieved storyline-specific summary.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for generating metadata for a media asset. The system retrieves an associated first metadata item for a media asset, where the first metadata item includes a first label field and an associated first data field. The system tries to fill in the first data field by looking it up in a remote database. If the remote database lacks data needed to fill in the first data field, the system generates a natural language request and publishes it to a plurality of users. The system analyzes a plurality of replies received in response to the published request to identify a text segment that is common to at least some of the replies. The system fills in the first data field with the identified text segment.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for generating virtual reality scenes from a textual document. The textual document is parsed to identify a plurality of text portions corresponding to a plurality of scenes. Each of the plurality of text portions is analyzed to identify a plurality of nouns and a plurality of related verbs. A virtual reality (VR) scene including a plurality of VR objects depicted as performing a set of actions is generated for each of the plurality of text portions, based on the nouns and related verbs identified in the corresponding text portion. Each VR scene includes at least one portal which a user may interact with to view another VR scene and the set of actions in a VR scene may be repeated while the VR scene is being viewed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for providing a user with a notification, or access to content, based on the user's factual discourse during a conversation with other users. A first user may provide a first statement. A second user may provide a second statement. An application determines the first and the second statement are associated with first and second user profiles, respectively. The application analyzes the elements of each respective statement and determines there is a conflict between the user statements. In response to determining there is a conflict between the respective statements, the application generates a respective search query to verify each respective statement. When the application determines there is an answer that resolves the conflict between the respective statements, the application generates a notification for the users that comprises the answer that resolves the conflict and may include access to content affirming the answer.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing voice interactions based on user context. Data is received that causes a voice interaction to be generated for output at a user device. In response, current user contextual data of the user device is retrieved. A user availability level for consuming the voice interaction is determined based on the current user contextual data. The voice interaction is altered based on the user availability level. Content of the voice interaction may be altered to be suitable for consumption. The altered voice interaction is outputted at the user device.
