摘要: A media device for storing and playing media such as audio, video or images, includes a memory device configured to store a plurality of media items in a digital format. The media device also includes a display configured to present a group of media items from the plurality of stored media items and to present a visual indicator that is capable of scrolling through the displayed group of media items in order to designate a specific media item from the group of media items. The media deice further includes a touch pad configured to receive input from a sliding motion or a tapping motion of a finger. The sliding motion of the finger controls the movement of the visual indicator through the group of media items. The tapping motion of the finger selects the specific media item that is designated by the visual indicator.

摘要: Quick release couplings for releasably coupling components of a computer to the computer are disclosed. The quick release coupling mechanisms are generally configured to allow tool-less placement of the components relative to the computer. That is, the quick release coupling mechanisms are configured to perform their couplings without using conventional fasteners such as screws, bolts, etc. By eliminating the use of fasteners, the components may be inserted and removed from the computer without using tools (e.g., tool-less). Furthermore, the quick release couplings are easy to maneuver thereby enabling quick and straightforward assembly and disassembly of the components to and from the computer (e.g., quick release). For example, the components may be inserted and removed by a simple pushing or pulling motion, and/or by a simple flick of a latch or handle.

摘要: A computer is disclosed. The computer includes a housing having an opening. The computer also includes a door that is movably coupled to the housing via a linkage mechanism. The linkage mechanism allows the door to move between a closed position where the door is placed against the housing and in front of the opening to prevent access therethrough, and an opened position where the door is placed away from the opening to allow access therethrough. The computer further includes a gimbal mechanism that allows the door to move relative to the linkage mechanism while constraining the door to the linkage mechanism. The gimbal mechanism provides a tight fit between the door and the housing when the door is in the closed position.

摘要: A cantilevered push button adapted for accepting an input on an electrical or electronic device is disclosed. The button can include an elongated button top component disposed about an exterior surface of an electrical or electronic device such that it is accessible to a user, and having two opposing distal ends associated with separate user inputs. A first fulcrum is located between the first distal end and the midpoint of the elongated button top component, while a second fulcrum is located between the second distal end and the midpoint. A first electrical contact is associated with the first distal end, such that when a user presses on the first distal end, the elongated button top component pivots about the second fulcrum and the first electrical contact is actuated. A second electrical contact is similarly associated with the second distal end and first fulcrum.

摘要: A multi-touch sensor panel is disclosed that can include a glass subassembly having a plurality of column traces of substantially transparent conductive material that can be formed on the back side, wherein the glass subassembly can also act as a cover that can be touched on the front side. Row traces of the same or different substantially transparent conductive material can then be located near the column traces, and a layer of dielectric material can be coupled between the column traces and the row traces. The row and column traces can be oriented to cross over each other at crossover locations separated by the dielectric material, and the crossover locations can form mutual capacitance sensors for detecting one or more touches on the front side of the glass subassembly.

摘要: Described embodiments provide a low profile hinge and pin mount to be mounted within a small encasement. The mount has a low profile and takes up minimal space within the small encasement without sacrificing structural support for a component and external forces placed on the mount. The mount includes a bracket, a pin and a fastener. The bracket includes a rounded end, a fastening end and a beam configured to support the component placed between the rounded end and the fastening end. The rounded end of the bracket is sized and shaped to fit in an enclosure of the encasement and to pivot about the pin during a rework process. Methods for installing and reworking the low profile hinge and pin mount are described.
