Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a noise reduction device and a noise reduction method capable of reducing noise in a more stable and effective manner. Signal processing is performed to generate a reference signal representing a waveform of noise. Moreover, signal processing is performed for an error signal representing a waveform of an error measured by a microphone in accordance with an amplitude-frequency characteristic. Then, a filter coefficient with which the error signal becomes zero is calculated under adaptive algorithm with reference to the reference signal. The reference signal is filtered by using the filter coefficient to obtain a control signal. The control signal is supplied to the corresponding one of the predetermined number of output units. The present technology is applicable to a noise cancelling system equipped in a closed space such as an interior of a vehicle, for example.

Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a sound output device includes: a sound acquisition part configured to acquire sound to be output to the other end of a sound guide part, one end of which is arranged near an entrance of an ear canal of a listener, the sound guide part having a hollow structure; and a head-related transfer function adjustment part configured to adjust a head-related transfer function of sound captured by the sound guide part. Since the head-related transfer function adjustment part adjusts the head-related transfer function of sound captured by the sound guide part, it is possible to listen to both ambient sound and sound provided from a sound output device such that the listener does not feel strangeness even in the state in which the listener is wearing the sound output device.

Abstract: The present technology relates to an input device, a transmitting method, a host device, a receiving method, a signal processing system, and a transceiving method, which are capable of easily performing transmission and reception of multiplexed data obtained by multiplexing a plurality of electric signals between a plug device including a plug and a jack device including a jack. An input device detects whether or not the jack device including the jack is an associated device capable of dealing the multiplexed data obtained by multiplexing a plurality of electric signals, and transmits the multiplexed data via the plug when the jack device is the associated device. The host device detects whether or not the plug device including the plug is the associated device, and receives the multiplexed data transmitted from the plug device via the jack when the plug device is the associated device. The present technology can be applied to a music player having a jack and a headset having a plug, for example.

Abstract: The present technology relates to a sound processing device, a sound processing method, and a program, which can collect a desired sound. A sound processing device includes: a sound collection unit configured to collect a sound; an application unit configured to apply a predetermined filter to a signal of the sound collected by the sound collection unit; a selection unit configured to select a filter coefficient of the filter applied by the application unit; and a correction unit configured to correct the signal from the application unit. The selection unit selects the filter coefficient on the basis of the signal of the sound collected by the sound collection unit. The selection unit creates, on the basis of the signal of the sound collected by the sound collection unit, a histogram which associates a direction where the sound occurs and a strength of the sound and selects the filter coefficient on the basis of the histogram. The present technology can be applied to a sound processing device.

Abstract: The present technique relates to an earhole-wearable sound collection device, a signal processing device, and a method for realizing sound collection at a high S/N ratio. In the earhole-wearable sound collection device, a microphone that collects emitted speech voice is provided in a space that is substantially sealed off from outside and connects to an ear canal of the wearer (the speaker). With the microphone being located in the space sealed off from outside, emitted speech voice that propagates through the ear canal of the wearer is collected. In a sound collection signal obtained through the ear canal, the emitted speech voice component is dominant over the noise component particularly at low frequencies. Therefore, the S/N ratio of an emitted speech voice collection signal is improved by an equalizing process for reducing muffled sound that is generated when sound is collected through the ear canal on the sound collection signal.
