Abstract: Vehicles may have the capability to navigate according to various levels of autonomous capabilities, the vehicle having a different set of autonomous competencies at each level. In certain situations, the vehicle may shift from one level of autonomous capability to another. The shift may require more or less driving responsibility from a human operator. Sensors inside the vehicle collect human operator parameters to determine an alertness level of the human operator. An alertness level is determined based on the human operator parameters and other data including historical data or human operator-specific data. Notifications are presented to the user based on the determined alertness level that are more or less intrusive based on the alertness level of the human operator and on the urgency of an impending change to autonomous capabilities. Notifications may be tailored to specific human operators based on human operator preference and historical performance.

Abstract: Systems and methods may analyze property telematics data, with homeowner permission or affirmative consent, to update risk-based coverage of a property, such as a house, during a short-term rental. The systems include a renter analytics computing device, a plurality of property telematics devices at the property, including at least one sensor, and a property telematics controller. The renter analytics computing device is configured to retrieve a pre-rental record including parameters of a short-term rental of the property, and retrieve property telematics data, from the property telematics devices, associated with the short-term rental. The renter analytics computing device may develop a risk level profile associated with the short-term rental and determine an adjusted coverage rate to cover the property during the short-term rental. As a result, a homeowner of the property may be protected against damages incurred to the property during the short-term rental.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable media are described for using a vehicle as a payment device. Various aspects may include receiving a selection of a stored financial card or financial account at a vehicle head unit. The selected financial card or financial account may be transmitted to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal for making a payment by transmitting a tokenized card number to the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted over a very short-range communication link to ensure that the transmission is secure. For example, electronic circuitry may be attached to the exterior of the vehicle, where the electronic circuitry may be within a threshold distance (e.g. one inch, three inches, six inches, one foot, three feet, etc.) of the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted from the vehicle head unit to the electronic circuitry and then to the POS terminal.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for configuring a document management system. In various aspects, post data of a user who submitted an online posting to one or more document management systems is collected. The post data includes a node that identifies the user. Metadata is extracted from the post data, in which the metadata includes an identifier for identifying the posting distributed by the one or more document management systems. The identifier is used to collect reaction data from the one or more document management systems, where the reaction data is associated with the user's posting. A mapping is generated from the post data and the reaction data, in which the mapping includes an association of the node with at least one edge, the edge identifying a second user who reacted to the posting. At least one of the document management systems is then configured with the mapping.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of assessing driver capability for operating an autonomous vehicle includes identifying a human operator of the autonomous vehicle, the human operator being associated with a driving capability profile. The method further includes signaling to the human operator with the signal, the signal requesting a response from the human operator. The method also includes updating, based on the response from the human operator to the signal, the driving capability profile to indicate a level of skill of the human operator at responding to the signal.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for improving vehicle awareness and safety by generating and transmitting alerts in response to detecting a hazard in the environment omnidirectional to a vehicle awareness system. Omnidirectional environment data, representing kinematic information pertaining to one or more physically detectable elements omnidirectional to the primary vehicle, is acquired by one or more sensors communicatively coupled to ta vehicle. The system analyzes the omnidirectional environment data to detect if one or more hazards in the omnidirectional environment data, representing a change in the kinetic behavior of the one or more physically detectable elements omnidirectional to the vehicle awareness system, has occurred. When the system detects one or more hazards in the omnidirectional environment data, the system generates and transmits an alert to vehicles, vehicle operators, mobile devices, or pedestrians at risk from the hazard.

Abstract: Systems and methods for control systems for facilitating situational awareness of a vehicle are provided. Sensors located around a vehicle may detect moving objects located in one or more vehicle blind spots. These moving objects pose potentially dangerous situations for the vehicle occupants and for the object. The sensors may further determine that the moving object is a cyclist approaching a vehicle blind spot, and that the vehicle is parked. Processors associated with the vehicle may then direct a corrective action, such as automatically locking the vehicle doors, to prevent a vehicle-cyclist collision. The systems and methods provided herein may thereby make these and similar situations safer.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining a driving score for an individual and updating a related vehicle-usage profile. The system and methods may include one or more processors, sensors, or transceivers to determine that an individual associated with an auto insurance policy is located in a driver seat of a vehicle for a vehicle trip. Telematics data may be collected from the sensors that indicates a time of day and an amount of time that the individual typically drives the vehicle. The telematics may be associated with the individual and a driving score for the individual may be determined. A vehicle-usage profile for the vehicle may then be updated with the telematics data or the driving score. The vehicle-usage profile may indicate a driving behavior of the individual and an auto insurance policy may be updated based on the profile.

A target vehicle operating within the vehicle operating environment may be identified based upon sensor data from one or more sensors associated with the vehicle. An indication of an identity of the target vehicle may be recorded and an indication of an evaluation of an operation of the target vehicle may be received by the operator of the vehicle. The indication of the evaluation of the operation of the target vehicle may indicate the quality of operation of the target vehicle. The indication of the identity of the target vehicle and the indication of the evaluation of the operation of the target vehicle may be transmitted to a remote server.
