    摘要: The invention relates to a liquid crystal display used as a display section of an electronic apparatus and a method of manufacturing the same, and it is aimed at providing a liquid crystal display which can achieve high viewing angle characteristics and a method of manufacturing the same. A configuration is employed which includes a pair of substrates provided opposite to each other, a liquid crystal sealed between the pair of substrates, protrusions formed on at least one of the pair of substrates for regulating the alignment of the liquid crystal, and a plurality of pixel regions having both of a first area in which the protrusions are disposed at first intervals a2 and which has a first threshold voltage for driving of the liquid crystal and a second area in which the protrusions are disposed at second intervals a2 smaller than the first intervals and which has a second threshold voltage lower than the first threshold voltage.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display including a pair of substrates, with a liquid crystal sealed therebetween. A plurality of gate bus lines and a plurality of drain bus lines are provided on one of the substrates, along with a pixel electrode, which includes first and second sub-pixel electrodes. A common electrode is provided on the other substrate. The first sub-pixel electrode is electrically connected to a first of the drain bus lines via a TFT. There is also a storage capacitor bus line that overlaps the first sub-pixel electrode, but does not overlap the second sub-pixel electrode, and an electrode that overlaps the storage capacitor bus line and the first sub-pixel electrode at a location where the storage capacitor bus line overlaps the first sub-pixel electrode, as well as a connection line that connects the electrode to the second sub-pixel electrode and has a portion overlapping the first sub-pixel electrode.

    摘要: The liquid crystalline material of the present invention comprises a compound represented by the following structural formula (1), compounds represented by the structural formulas (1) and (2), compounds represented by the structural formulas (1) and (3), or compounds represented by the structural formulas (1), (2) and (3) in an amount of 90% by weight or more of the total amount of liquid crystalline components contained therein: ##STR1## wherein R represents a linear alkyl group, C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 in which n is 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, A represents --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- or direct bond (--) without --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --, and B represents --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- or direct bond (--) without --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --. Further, under the above conditions, the components are blended so that the nematic-isotropic transition temperature of the liquid crystalline material can be 55.degree. C. to 75.degree. C. A liquid crystal display panel of TN type obtained by using the thus-obtained liquid crystalline material is operable with a low voltage of 2.5 V or lower. A display panel of which power consumption is low can thus be attained.

    摘要: In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a lens array unit having a cylindrical lens array constituted by a plurality of cylindrical lenses each having a lens surface and a generatrix corresponding to the lens surface. The lens surface is arranged in a line in a direction orthogonally crossing the generatrix. A first substrate is arranged at a back side of the lens array unit and includes a pixel electrode in a belt shape extending in a different direction from the direction in which the generatrix extends. The pixel electrode is formed in a V character shape. A second substrate is arranged between the lens array unit and the first substrate including a counter electrode in a belt shape commonly arranged on the pixel electrodes extending in a parallel direction to the pixel electrode.
