摘要: A liquid crystal display has a pair of substrates with liquid crystal sealed between them. A polymer layer regulates directions in which the liquid crystal molecules tilt. A plurality of gate bus lines and a plurality of drain bus lines are provided on one of the substrates. Color filters and a pixel electrode are provided on the substrate. The pixel electrode includes a first sub-pixel electrode and a second sub-pixel electrode. A common electrode is provided on the other substrate. A first and a second thin film transistor are connected to the first sub-pixel electrode. The first thin film transistors is connected to a first gate bus line, and the second thin film transistor is connected to a second bus line.

摘要: In one embodiment, a first substrate includes a main pixel electrode and a first alignment film formed on the main pixel electrode having vertical alignment characteristics. A second substrate includes a pair of main common electrodes and a second alignment film formed on the main common electrodes having vertical alignment characteristics. A liquid crystal layer is held between the first substrate and the second substrate having positive dielectric anisotropy. The main pixel electrode is arranged extending in a first direction. The pair of main common electrodes is arranged in the first direction, respectively, so as to sandwich the main pixel electrode.

摘要: In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a lens array unit having a cylindrical lens array constituted by a plurality of cylindrical lenses each having a lens surface and a generatrix corresponding to the lens surface. The lens surface is arranged in a line in a direction orthogonally crossing the generatrix. A first substrate is arranged at a back side of the lens array unit and includes a pixel electrode in a belt shape extending in a different direction from the direction in which the generatrix extends. The pixel electrode is formed in a V character shape. A second substrate is arranged between the lens array unit and the first substrate including a counter electrode in a belt shape commonly arranged on the pixel electrodes extending in a parallel direction to the pixel electrode.

摘要: A liquid crystal display including two substrates, gate bus lines, liquid crystal molecules, and a polymer that determines directions in which the liquid crystal molecules tilt. A plurality of divisional areas are arranged on one of the substrates. The pixels are aligned in a column between drain bus lines. A pixel electrode is formed at each of the divisional areas. A first thin film transistor drives a first divisional area, and a second thin film transistor drives a second divisional area of the same column. The first and second thin film transistors are electrically connected to the same gate bus line. Either the pixel electrodes formed at each of the divisional areas are electrically insulated from each other, or they are connected to each other through a high resistance. A first threshold voltage within the first divisional area is different from a second threshold voltage of the second divisional area.
