摘要: A first control member is disposed in a drum shaft away from a photoconductive drum, and a second control member is disposed in a roller shaft away from a transfer roller. The first and second control members abut on each other at their circumferential surfaces. This helps reduce an amount of displacement resulting from an impact caused by insertion of a recording paper sheet in between the photoconductive drum and the transfer roller, and thereby reduce vibrations in the photoconductive drum. Consequently, a toner image formed on the photoconductive drum and an unfixed toner image transferred onto the recording paper sheet are not affected by vibrations.

摘要: A toner pattern image is formed on a surface of a photoreceptor, and an amount of toner adhering to a transferring belt is estimated in accordance with a concentration detecting signal of the toner pattern image, and a time or a voltage at which a bias having the same polarity as the toner is applied to the transferring belt is determined, so as to perform the cleaning step of the transferring belt. The amount or the concentration of the toner that actually adheres to the transferring body is detected. Further, feedback can be carried out with respect to the cleaning operation according to the detection result.

摘要: A coordinate position detecting method uses a plurality of light emitting elements and a plurality of light receiving elements located on mutually opposite sides, all the elements being arranged at a predetermined interval in horizontal and vertical directions, with each pair of mutually opposed light emitting element and light receiving element forming a light beam path, such that the coordinate position of a light blocking object can be detected once the light beam path is blocked. The method comprises: storing N previous coordinate datas obtained when detecting a movement of the light blocking ojecte, using n (1≦n≦N) coordinate datas of the N previous coordinate datas to calculate a coordinate position of the light blocking object; and changing the number of the coordinate datas for use in calculating the coordinate position, in accordance with a speed of the movment of the light blocking object.

摘要: A support structure comprises a pair of mounting members and a pair of connecting members, which are joined together by a joining member. The image reading unit is mounted on the top surfaces of the mounting members. The connecting members are disposed vertically, and the respective mounting members are supported on the top ends of the connecting members in a cantilevered manner. Securing portions are formed on each of the connecting members in the vicinity of the bottom end thereof at at least two locations vertically spaced apart from each other. The support structure is integrally secured to the paper feed unit via the securing portions of the connecting members, and the image reading unit integrally moves together with the support structure according to the horizontal movement of the image forming unit and the paper feed unit. Accordingly, the image reading unit does not fall off the support structure.

摘要: A cooling system for an electronic appliance is configured so as to include a duct made up of a high thermally conductive material over a fixing unit as a high-temperature unit, part of a laser writing unit being inserted into the duct, and a fan for creating an air flow inside the duct. With this configuration, heat arising from the laser writing unit is discharged outside by virtue of the air flow to cool the laser writing unit while the laser writing unit is arranged so as not to directly oppose the fixing unit, to thereby prevent temperature rise of the laser writing unit due to heat arising from the fixing unit. Further, the fixing unit is arranged so as not to be in direct contact with the air flow, hence no heat more than needed will be removed from the fixing unit, thus making it possible to keep the fixing unit at the predetermined high-temperature state.

摘要: A sheet conveyed into a sheet discharge processing device is conveyed through a straight convey path by first convey rollers and then is discharged onto a first discharge tray by second convey rollers and first discharge rollers. Second discharge rollers are arranged on a reverse convey path. A second discharge tray and a fan for applying an external force to the rear surface of a sheet are placed below the reverse convey path. When the trailing end of a sheet is detected by a second detection sensor, the fan is driven for a predetermined period of time to blow air against the rear surface of the discharged sheet. When sheets conveyed into the sheet discharge processing device are guided to a post-processing convey path by the first convey rollers so as to be subjected to post-processing, and are sequentially conveyed to a sheet stored section by convey rollers from the last or start page, the sheets are guided along one of guide plates constituting the sheet storing section to be aligned. A stapler for stapling a bundle of sheets aligned in the sheet storing section is placed below the sheet storing section.

摘要: A projection display device comprises: a diaphragm for the illuminating system disposed in the vicinity of a focal point of the light collected by the concave mirror; a collimation lens for rendering parallel the light passing through the aperture of the first diaphragm; a scattering-type liquid crystal light valve for forming forming image on its displaying surface; a field lens for converging the light rendered parallel by the collimation lens; a projection lens having an entrance pupil disposed in the vicinity of a focal point of the light converged by the field lens; and a second diaphragm having an aperture and provided in the projection lens. An aperture varying section of the first diaphragm varies the aperture diameter of the diaphragm of the illuminating system, and the other aperture varying section varies the aperture diameter of the diaphragm of the projection lens, thereby varying the diameter of an entrance pupil.

摘要: A sheet is discharged from an image forming apparatus either onto a first discharge tray through a first transport path by sheet entry rollers via first transport rollers without being reversed, or onto a second discharge tray by second discharge rollers as being guided to a branched transport path by a first switching member formed in a midpoint of the transport path and further guided to a second transport path by a second switching member. The first and second transport rollers are capable of rotating in a reverse direction, and the sheet being fed to the first discharge tray is transported by the second transport rollers after being reversed to be discharged onto the first discharge tray in a reversed state. Therefore, in response to an image forming mode, a discharge end of the sheet and a discharge state of the sheet can be set as desired. In the case of discharging the sheet in a reversed state, as the first or second discharge tray can be used as a switch back transport path, the sheet post-processing apparatus can be reduced in size.
