摘要: A process for producing aliphatic polyester wherein a crystallized aliphatic polyester prepolymer formed from an aliphatic dihydric alcohol and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and having a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000 to 100,000 is caused to undergo solid-phase polymerization in the presence of a volatile catalyst to make an aliphatic polyester having a weight-average molecular weight of 50,000 to 1,000,000. This process is more efficient than any prior process calling for a complicated step for catalyst removal, since it enables the removal of the catalyst from the reaction system during and/or after solid-phase polymerization. The polyester is comparable in stability to any aliphatic polyester having any catalyst removed therefrom.

摘要: A disc includes a disc substrate having a major surface operating as a signal recording portion and having a substantially circular center opening in the major surface, and a hub mounted on the disc substrate for closing the center opening in the disc substrate. The hub includes an inner rim portion having a spindle opening at its center and an outer rim portion connected to an outer side of the inner rim portion for extending from the inner rim portion via a step difference towards the side of insertion in the spindle opening. When the hub is set on a disc table, the outer rim portion protruded on the side from which the spindle is inserted into the spindle opening with a step difference approaches a magnet provided on the disc table to increase the force of suction by the magnet so that the magnetic disc is chucked with respect to the disc table solely by the force of the magnet.

摘要: A disc driving device for accommodating a disc-type recording medium (for example, a floppy disc) that provides reliable chucking and centering of the disc-type recording medium. The disc-type recording medium that is accommodated in the disc driving apparatus has a hub with a center opening, a chuck hole at a predetermined distance from the center opening, and a recording disc attached to the hub. The disc driving device includes a disc table with a major surface for loading the hub, a spindle shaft for fitting in the center opening, a chuck member for rotation and fitting in the chuck hole, a spindle motor for rotating the disc table, a head for recording and/or reproducing information signals for the recording disc loaded on the disc table, a cartridge holder for moving the recording disc between a loading position and an unloading position, and a system controller for controlling the rotational velocity of the disc table. The system controller controls the spindle motor such that when the recording disc is moved by the cartridge holder to the loading position, the recording disc is rotated at a first rotational velocity during a first period adequate to insure reliable centering and chucking and subsequently at a second rotational velocity slower than the first rotational velocity.

摘要: An electrode plate, suitable for constituting a liquid crystal device, includes at least a light-transmissive substrate, a plurality of metal electrodes disposed on the light-transmissive substrate and with spacings therebetween, and an insulating layer disposed at the spacings. Each of the metal electrodes includes a first layer, disposed on the light-transmissive substrate comprising a metal or alloy selected from the group consisting of titanium, chronium, molybdenum, tungsten, aluminum, tantalum and nickel, a second layer comprising copper or silver dispersed on the first layer; and a third layer comprising a metal or alloy selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, tantalum, tungsten, titanium, chromium, nickel, aluminum and zinc and disposed on the second layer. The electrode plate is effective in providing a liquid crystal device with good display qualities, a durability and a productivity through improvements in an adhesiveness to the light-transmissive substrate and an antioxidizing property of the metal electrodes.

摘要: The invention concerns synchronization equipment; more particularly, the invention is directed to the provision of synchronization equipment which, after simple hardware installation and software setting, establishes a synchronization network with an existing network, SDH elements, etc. that do not support SSMB. The synchronization equipment comprises: a failure detection section for detecting a failure of each of a plurality of timing sources assigned prescribed priorities; a failure monitoring section for monitoring failure detection information from the failure detection section, and for outputting in the event of detection of a timing source failure a timing source switching control signal directing switching to a timing source having the highest priority among the timing sources other than the failure-detected timing source; a timing source selection section for outputting a timing source switching control signal based on the quality of synchronization derived from SSMB information; and a selection section for selecting one or the other of the two timing source switching control signals.
