摘要: A weather strip seal system is provided for sealing a variable width gap between two components of a vehicle. The seal includes a main body portion defining a length dimension and a width dimension, with at least a portion of the main body portion being expandable and retractable in the width dimension. A connection end is provided, defined by a first longitudinally extending edge of the main body portion, and is configured for permanently connecting the weather strip seal to a first vehicle component. A coupling end is provided, opposite the connection end, defined by a second longitudinally extending edge of the main body portion, and is configured for removably coupling the weather strip seal to a second first vehicle component. A magnetic sealing mechanism is provided to removably couple the weather strip seal to the second vehicle component.

摘要: A transition region between a first vehicle component and a second vehicle component can be actively managed. In a pick-up truck, the first vehicle component can be a deck and the second vehicle component can be a cabin. A side shield can be movable between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the stowed position, the side shield can be located within the deck. In the deployed position, the side shield can extend at least partially out of the deck in a direction toward the cabin. Responsive to receiving an input indicating the position for the side shield, the side shield can be caused to be moved into or maintained in the indicated position. In some instances, the input can be provided automatically by the vehicle based on a detected vehicle condition, environment condition, and/or other condition. In some instances, the input can be received from a vehicle occupant.

摘要: A vehicular cowl louver assembly, a vehicular windshield assembly and a vehicle. A cowl louver that makes up a portion of the vehicular cowl louver assembly has one or more recesses formed in an upper-facing surface with which to provide storage of an ice scraper. A resiliently-biased clip allows the ice scraper to be selectively removable from the cowl louver to enable a person to scrape ice, snow or other debris from a vehicular windshield. The ice scraper may be returned to the recess after use, where the clip keeps the two secured to one another, even during vehicular movement. In one form, the surface of the ice scraper may be made to form a substantially flush, continuous fit with the portion of the surface of the cowl louver that is adjacent the recess to improve aerodynamic and aesthetic features of the cowl louver assembly.

摘要: Various examples for controlling sway of a furniture that is suspended in a vehicle are disclosed herein. In addition to the suspended furniture, the vehicle can include sway control devices operatively connected to the suspended furniture. The sway control devices can be connected to the suspended furniture via sway lines. The sway control devices can be controlled to adjust the rates that the sway lines are let out or retracted. As a result, the vehicle can control how much the suspended furniture sways.

摘要: A connecting structure is structured to connect a vehicle bumper reinforcement to another portion of a vehicle. The connecting structure includes a first portion having a first part structured for connection to the bumper reinforcement and a second part structured for connection to the other portion of the vehicle. A second portion is coupled to the first portion, the second portion also having a first part structured for connection to the bumper reinforcement, and a second part structured for connection to the other portion of the vehicle. At least one fold is positioned along an edge of the second portion. Through connections between the connecting structure and the bumper reinforcement, collision energy acting on the bumper reinforcement is transmitted to the at least one fold, which then acts to absorb the collision energy acting on the bumper reinforcement.

摘要: A vehicular sensing system, a vehicle and a method of performing one or both of vehicular mapping and navigating operations using the sensing system. The sensing system is secured to a roof or other suitable location on the vehicle and includes one or more sensors configured to acquire at least one of vehicular mapping and navigational data, a retractable mounting structure to move the sensor or sensors between a deployed and stowed position, and an aerodynamic spoiler, air dam or deflector. The body of the spoiler acts as a housing with a recess formed in its upper surface such that upon placement of the spoiler on the roof, the recess provides a location within the spoiler to permit storage of the mounting structure and sensors when they are in their deployed (non data-acquisition) mode of operation. The size and placement of the mounting structure and sensors is such that they do not detract from the aerodynamic or aesthetic qualities of the spoiler.
