    摘要: A signal converting apparatus and a signal converting method which predictively produce highly accurate interpolated pixels in accordance with a classification which precisely reflects a variety of signal characteristics of inputted video signals to provide a high resolution video signal. An activity is evaluated and classified for each block of an inputted video signal (S.sub.1), and stepwise classifications are executed on each block of the inputted video signal (S.sub.1) in accordance with an activity code (c0) obtained as a result of the activity classification. In this way, the accuracy of subsequent classifications can be increased, reflecting the activity characteristic of each block of the inputted video signal (S.sub.1), thus achieving, as a whole, a highly accurate classification of the inputted video signal (S.sub.1). Appropriate prediction coefficients (d1) are read based on the activity code (c0) and a class code (c1) for each block of the inputted video signal (S.sub.1) to produce highly accurate interpolated pixels, thus providing a high resolution video signal (S.sub.2).

To an adder, zero data is given through a switching circuit at the time of the decoding of intraframe coded data, and when interframe coded data, i.e., difference data is decoded, a decoded value of a previous frame is supplied through the switching circuit. By the adder, the decoded value of the previous frame and the decoded difference value are added to allow the decoding of interframe coding.

    摘要: An analog signal is quantized over a range of quantizing levels, each level being associated with a digital signal, and wherein the digital signals which are associated with a predetermined band of the quantizing levels have zero disparity. In accordance with one aspect, those digital signals which are outside the aforementioned band and which have non-zero disparity are selected to represent corresponding quantizing levels in such a manner that positive and negative disparity signals are selected, alternately, to represent quantized analog signals which are disposed outside the predetermined band. In accordance with another aspect, those zero disparity digital signals having the smallest run-lengths are assigned to represent quantizing levels which are disposed substantially in the center of the quantizing range, and those zero disparity digital signals having progressively larger run-lengths are assigned to represent quantizing levels which are disposed progressively farther from the center of the range.

The insect trapping device comprises: a carriage; a post standing on the carriage; a housing bulging forward over the post for sucking and trapping an insect; a suction inlet formed in the bottom face of the front of the housing; and an attractive element disposed below the suction inlet and on the carriage for attracting the insect. A gas cylinder is housed in the post and contains an attractive gas to be emitted from the attractive element. The attractive element is an upward protrusion with a black surface. An ultraviolet emitter is arranged near the suction inlet and emits a ray downward of the housing.
