    摘要: In order to minimize the overall delay when transmitting data via the HS-DSCH in UMTS, provisions should be made that an RLC entity on the UE side receives RLC PDUs carried by the HS-DSCH as early as possible from the MAC-hs layer, while at the same time keeping the right sequence of these RLC PDUs. In accordance with the present invention, the scheduler in Node B is allowed to send a list of TSNs of MAC-hs PDUs which are still under retransmission to the receiver, such as a mobile station. Such a list may also be sent for MAC-hs PDUs for which the transmission was aborted but a new transmission is intended. Advantageously, this may allow to avoid “useless gaps” in a reordering buffer of the receiver and, as such, may allow for an efficient data transmission.

    摘要: Using the attribute “priority” to achieve a stronger FEC for RLC Control PDUs transmitted via the HS-DSCH also entails prioritized handling so that an RLC Control PDU is likely to overhaul an RLC Data PDU. As a consequence the RLC protocol operation can severely be disturbed, since it relies on in-sequence delivery of control and data PDUs. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, two types of containers are provided in which data packets may be transmitted, wherein the first type of container is provided with a stronger error coding than the second type of container and wherein data packets which comprise control instructions are only transmitted in the first container type with the stronger error correction. Due to this, an improved forward error correction for control PDUs of the AM RLC protocol of UMTS may be provided.

    摘要: A wireless network includes a radio network controller and a plurality of terminals which are provided for transmitting useful data over logic channels which have different priorities, which are mapped onto exactly one transport channel, respectively. The data transmission over a plurality of combined (multiplexed) transport channels is determined by transport format combinations. The respective most favorable transport format combination is selected at the beginning of a radio frame, given the packet data units waiting in the buffers of the logic channels. Further, the logic channels are sorted while their priorities, their buffer occupancy and the transmission time interval of the associated transport channel are taken into account.

    摘要: The invention relates to a radiation detector (100) and an associated method for the detection of (e.g. X or γ-) radiation. The detector (100) comprises a converter element (110) in which incident photons (X) are converted into electrical signals, and an array of anodes (130) for generating an electrical field (E) in the converter element (110). At least two anodes are associated with two steering electrodes (140) to which different potentials can be applied by a control unit (150). Preferably, each single anode or small group of anodes is surrounded by one steering electrode. The potentials of the steering electrodes (140) may be set as a function of the potentials that are induced in these electrodes when an operating voltage is applied between the anodes and a cathode (120). Moreover, a grid electrode (160) may be provided that at least partially encircles anodes (130) and their steering electrodes (140).

The radiation detector assembly (20) is assembled by operatively connecting the ASIC (42) with the detector array module (40), and the signal processing circuitry (60) of the ASIC of the assembled radiation detector assembly is tested without the use of radiation.

    摘要: The invention relates to a radiation detector (100) comprising a converter element (102) for converting incident high-energy radiation (X) into charge signals. A cathode (101) and an array (104) of anodes (103) are disposed on different sides of the converter element (102) for generating an electrical field (E0, Ed) within it. The strength of said electrical field (E0, Ed) is increased in a first region (Rd) near the anode array (104) with respect to a second region (R0) remote from it. Such an increase may be achieved by doping the first region (Rd) with an electron acceptor. The increased field strength in the first region (Rd) favorably affects the sharpness of charge pulses generated by incident radiation.
