Abstract: An ambulatory medical device includes a sensor configured to acquire a signal indicative of a physiological condition of a patient, a controller operatively coupled to the sensor and configured to monitor the physiological signal, and to perform a diagnostic test, and a remote access manager operatively coupled to the controller and configured to monitor for a command from a remote system to perform the diagnostic test, and to cause the controller to perform the diagnostic test in response to the command. In the device, the remote access manager may be further configured to transmit data representing an operational status of the ambulatory medical device to the remote system. The operational status of the controller may result from performing the diagnostic test. The remote access manager may be further configured to send the data representing the operational status of the ambulatory medical device in real time or substantially in real time.

Abstract: In some examples, an ambulatory medical device is provided. The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire data descriptive of the patient, one or more processors in communication with the at least one sensor, a patient care component executable by the one or more processors, and a limited functionality component executable by the one or more processors. The patient care component is configured to perform one or more primary operations of the ambulatory medical device at least in part by accessing the data descriptive of the patient. The limited functionality component is configured to exchange information with a communication device and to not affect the one or more primary operations of the ambulatory medical device.

Abstract: A medical device includes at least one electrode to sense an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal of a patient, and a controller coupled to the at least one electrode. The controller is configured to generate a first ECG template based on a first ECG signal of the patient received during a first baselining operation. The controller is configured to determine that the patient has been administered a therapeutic shock, and responsive to the determination that the patient has been administered the therapeutic shock, the controller is configured to initiate a second baselining operation and generate a second ECG template based on a second ECG signal of the patient received during the second baselining operation. The controller is configured to determine whether the patient is experiencing a cardiac event based on a comparison of the second ECG template to a real time ECG signal received during real time monitoring of the patient.

Abstract: An ambulatory medical device including a plurality of sensing electrodes and one or more processors operably coupled to the plurality of sensing electrodes is provided. Each sensing electrodes is configured to be coupled eternally to a patient and to detect one or more ECG signals. The one or more processors are configured to receive at least one electrode-specific digital signal for each of the plurality of sensing electrodes, determine a noise component for each of the electrode-specific digital signals, analyze each of the noise components for each of the plurality of sensing electrodes, generate electrode matching information for each sensing electrode of the plurality of sensing electrodes based upon analysis of each of the noise components, determine one or more sensing electrode pairs based upon the electrode matching information, and monitor each of the one or more sensing electrode pairs for ECG activity of the patient.

Abstract: Techniques that enable medical devices to quickly recover from loss of sensory functions are provided. In some examples, a medical device is configured to advantageously leverage differences between a first type of sensing electrode and a second type of sensing electrode that has a shorter recovery time than the first type of sensing electrode. In some examples, a medical device is configured to reference data generated by a first conditioning circuit that is configured to process signals acquired under a first set of environmental conditions and to reference data generated by a second conditioning circuit that is configured to process signal acquired under a second set of environmental conditions. In some examples, a medical device is configured to arrange electrodes used by the medical device to acquire signals in at specific locations to reduce the amount of disruptive power the electrodes encounter.
