摘要: A communication system is supplied for filtering and attenuating a receive signal in between a bi-directional antenna system and a bi-directional base station system. In the communication system, a first circulator is configured to receive a receive signal from a first bi-directional link coupled to the bi-directional antenna system and circulate the receive signal to a first uni-directional link. A signal processing system is configured to receive the receive signal from the first uni-directional link, filter and attenuate the receive signal, and transfer the receive signal to a second uni-directional link. A second circulator is configured to receive the receive signal from the second uni-directional link, circulate the receive signal to a second bi-directional link coupled to the bi-directional base station system, receive a transmit signal from the second bi-directional link, and circulate the transmit signal to a third uni-directional link. Additionally, the first circulator is configured to receive the transmit signal from the third uni-directional link and circulate the transmit signal to the first bi-directional link coupled to the bi-directional antenna system.

摘要: Systems and methods of testing a base station are provided. A base station can generate simulated user data and combine this data with data received from mobile stations over an air interface. The combined data can then be evaluated to determine the effect of the simulated user data to the data received from mobile stations over the air interface.

摘要: A method of operating a communication system is disclosed. A first communication session between a first base station and a mobile station is established. A service session between a first access network and the mobile station is established. When the mobile station moves to the service area of a new base station, a second communication session between a second base station and the mobile station is established. A distance between the first base station and the second base station is determined. If the distance exceeds a criteria, the service session is handed off a second access network. The criteria, which must be greater than zero, corresponds to the number of base station service areas separating the first base station and the second base station.

摘要: A method and computer-readable medium for dynamic rate capping of data transmissions of a subscriber are provided. According to the method, configuration parameters for dynamic rate capping are defined. A plurality of subscriber parameters are obtained, and a plurality of network parameters are measured. A rate boost factor is calculated based on a backhaul rate boost factor and a sector rate boost factor. A transmission rate cap for subscriber data transmissions is calculated based on backhaul and sector parameters, such as backhaul and sector rate boost factors. The rate of subscriber data transmissions is dynamically controlled based on the transmission rate cap.

摘要: A system and method for reducing an initial network entry and/or handover (INE/HO) Link Budget (LB) Bottleneck in a communications network, for example, a Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) network described in the IEEE 802.16 specification, is arranged such that a Base Station (BS) may allocate bandwidth with repetition across at least two frames on Initial Network Entry/Handover (INE/HO) by a Mobile Station. By doing so, the BS may achieve increased system gain on INE, while reducing the number of subchannels conventionally associated with repetition, thereby reducing the system noise floor during INE/HO.

摘要: A system and method of a hybrid scheme of DL link adaptation in a network having mobile stations (MSs) in communication with a base station (BS). The system may include a mode decision module associated with the base station. The mode decision module may include one or more processors configured to select a first mode configuration for use during transmission of a first communication from the base station. The BS may receive first feedback information associated with the first communication, where the first feedback information includes a first mode recommendation and first channel information. Based on the first feedback information, the BS may generate a BS-derived mode configuration based on the first channel information and compare the first mode recommendation and the BS-derived mode configuration. Based on the comparison, the BS may determine a second mode configuration to use to configure a second communication.

摘要: A system and method for adaptive control of an averaging parameter in a communications network may include an averaging parameter adaptive control module (APAC) that is associated with a base station and that includes one or more processors configured to generate a first averaging parameter that is transmitted by the base station to a mobile station communicating with the base station. The mobile station may use the first averaging parameter to generate first channel condition information that indicates a condition of a communication channel. First feedback information including the first channel condition information may be received at the base station. The APAC may generate a second averaging parameter using the first averaging parameter and the first feedback information and may transmit the second averaging parameter from the base station to the mobile station, thereby adaptively controlling the second averaging parameter based on the first feedback information.
