    摘要: The present invention relates to a method, a computer readable medium, and a system of payload encoding and modulation and, more particularly, to a method, a computer readable medium, and a system of payload encoding and modulation for channel quality feedback. A method includes sending a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) in a x-bit modulation scheme, and after sending the CQI, sending at least one CQI in a y-bit modulation scheme, the at least one CQI indicating one of an increment and a decrement of a previous CQI. The method further includes detecting a trigger event, and when the trigger event is detected, sending the CQI in the x-bit modulation scheme.

    摘要: A base station includes multiple transmitter-receiver elements coupled to multiple antennas. The activation of additional baseband signal processing resources, dynamically mapped via a programmable digital interface module to a subset of the original transmitter-receiver sets in the base station to double capacity of the system or facilitate simultaneous operation of multiple air interface technologies with minimal or no hardware modifications to the base station or cell site. With a base station having four transmitter-receivers, the system transmits and receives the same signal on all transmitter-receivers to provide a 4×2 downlink and a 1×4 uplink. The system can be reconfigured by splitting the transmitter-receiver sets into two logically separate units. An additional base station modem resource is activated to double the capacity of the radio system or to implement a different communication protocol allowing transition between technologies.

The second forward link frequency band has a greater frequency bandwidth than the first forward link frequency band and occupies a different part of the radio frequency spectrum. For certain types of communication sessions, such as voice and low-speed data, the reverse link frequency band and the first forward link frequency band are used. For other types of communication sessions, such as high-speed data and streaming video, the reverse link frequency band and the second forward link frequency band are used.

    摘要: In various embodiments, a system and method for providing uplink (UL) power control for a wireless mobile station (MS) includes, after transmission of an unanswered bandwidth request by the MS, incrementally boosting an UL transmit power of one or more subsequent bandwidth requests by the MS to a boosted UL power level at which UL bandwidth is allocated to the MS by the BS; selectively reporting the boosted UL power level to the BS immediately after the UL transmit power has been boosted; and selectively controlling the boosted UL power level by the BS responsive to the boosted UL power level reported to the BS. A MS is configured to carry out the UL power control method and a BS is configured to generate MS UL power control commands based, at least in part, upon the UL power level reported to the BS.

The system may include a mode decision module associated with the base station. The mode decision module may include one or more processors configured to select a first mode configuration for use during transmission of a first communication from the base station. The BS may receive first feedback information associated with the first communication, where the first feedback information includes a first mode recommendation and first channel information. Based on the first feedback information, the BS may generate a BS-derived mode configuration based on the first channel information and compare the first mode recommendation and the BS-derived mode configuration. Based on the comparison, the BS may determine a second mode configuration to use to configure a second communication.
