    摘要: The present disclosure provides a welding system having a welder, a welding gun, and a welding gun adapter, the welding gun being a spool gun with an attached motor. The welding gun adapter receives welding power from the welder, and converts it to output power suitable for driving the motor of the welding gun. The welding gun adapter also uses received welding power from the welder for control power. The present techniques allow for the use of welding guns requiring motor power to be used with any ordinary welder.

    摘要: Air conditioning systems including a refrigeration circuit having at least one fan or blower are provided. The air conditioning systems also include a multi-voltage induction motor coupled to the fan/blower. The multi-voltage induction motor includes motor windings adapted for use when the motor windings are wired in a first voltage wiring configuration and a second voltage wiring configuration, the second voltage being greater than the first voltage. The multi-voltage induction motor may be wired in the first voltage wiring configuration, and a variable frequency drive may be adapted to maintain an operating voltage to frequency ratio of the multi-voltage induction motor at approximately a voltage to frequency design ratio of the multi-voltage induction motor. Also provided are power conductors adapted to transmit power to the variable frequency drive at a voltage approximately equal to the second voltage for operation of the multi-voltage induction motor.

    摘要: The gas-metal arc welding of metal-core wile electrodes in the pure Ar shielding gas for carbon steel, low alloy steel, and ferritic stainless steel is described. Such shielding gas provides several benefits not realized ??the gas-metal arc welding process with solid wires. When compared to standard argon/oxygen containing gas mixtures normally used for metal cored wires, these benefits include reduced silicate islands on the weld surface for improved weld appearance, reduced welding fume, and lower weld spatter, all of which provide easier clean-up after the welding operation. Benefits also include reduced arc penetration desirable for welding on thinner materials or handling poor joint fit-up. Lower voltage requirement further makes it possible to weld on thinner materials. Lower oxygen content in the weld deposits provide better toughness and easier welding in all-positions.

    摘要: A control circuit for an electric arc welder is responsive to the operation of a torch or gun mounted control switch. A first comparator has one input connected to the gun switch and the other input to a reference voltage source. When the gun switch is closed, the output of the comparator will cause a control relay to be energized. When a welding arc is established, a reed switch closes and provides an input to a second comparator which effectively provides a latch to hold the control relay energized. After a predetermined time delay, typically in the order of 1 second, a timer circuit will provide an output to one input of a third comparator, the other input of which is connected to the gun switch. A subsequent closure of the gun switch will caused the output of the third comparator to change the level of the reference voltage, changing the outputs of the first two comparators, thereby removing the latch and deenergizing the control relay. Thus, the control relay can be deenergized either by the welder operating the control switch a second time or by extinguishing the arc, such as by removing the torch from the workpiece; either will disable the latch circuit and terminate the welding operation.

    摘要: A torch handle for use with a nozzle which includes a fume extracting orifice to remove fumes generated by welding or cutting includes a conduit within the handle for carrying the fumes to a vacuum pump and means for cooling the handle. In one embodiment, cooling is provided by mixing large quantitites of ambient air with the fumes in the vicinity of the nozzle. In another embodiment of the invention, ambient air is drawn into the handle and over the fume conduit and thereafter mixed with the fumes in the pipe leading to the vacuum pump. In a third embodiment, compressed air is directed into the handle from an internal source and passed over the fume carrying conduit within the handle. In a fourth embodiment, cooling water is passed over the surface of the fume extracting conduit within the handle.
