An aircraft wing includes a wing structure, a slat panel mounted on a track, and an actuator mechanism on the wing structure coupled to the track for moving the slat panel between a deployed position and a retracted position. Track roller bearings on the wing structure rotatably contact the track, and side roller bearings on the wing structure rotatably contact at least one side of the track. In another configuration, the actuator mechanism includes a shaft rotatably mounted on the wing structure, an actuator arm coupled to the track by a bearing linkage, and an actuator lever coupled to the shaft by a bearing linkage and to the actuator arm by a bearing linkage. At least one bearing linkage includes a spherical plain bearing.

A bearing includes an inner race member having an end surface. An outer race member is disposed about the inner race member. The outer race member has an internal shoulder for engaging the end surface of the inner race member. The inner and outer race members are configured to define a raceway between them and to define a snap ring seat between them. There are cylindrical rollers in the raceway and a snap ring in the snap ring seat. The bearing may be provided as a follower head on a cam follower or may be eccentrically mounted on a drive shaft to serve as a cam. A bearing can be assembled by inserting the inner race member into the outer race member, disposing cylindrical rollers in the raceway and disposing a snap ring in the snap ring seat.

An improved swashplate assembly of the main rotor of an AH-64 Apache helicopter includes a stationary swashplate and a rotating swashplate and a ball bearing between the swashplates, the ball bearing having an outer ring, an inner ring, two sets of balls between the inner ring and the outer ring, and a wire loop cage between the inner ring and the outer ring. The improvement includes that the inner ring, the outer ring and the balls are formed from an M50 alloy.

A spherical plain bearing has an outer ring having a concave bearing surface, and an inner ring having a convex bearing surface and a shaft-engaging surface. The inner ring is disposed within the outer ring with the concave surface engaging the convex surface. The inner ring has a lubrication groove on the convex surface and a lubrication aperture that extends from the groove to the shaft-engaging surface. A shaft is mounted in the inner ring. The shaft has a lubrication aperture that communicates with the inner ring lubrication aperture. Lubricant can be injected into the shaft lubrication aperture to flow lubricant into the bearing load zone via the inner ring lubrication aperture. In another aspect, a kingpin linkage assembly includes an axle yoke, a steering knuckle, two king pins pivotally interconnecting the axle yoke and the steering knuckle, and two bearings as described herein for engaging the kingpins.

The outer engagement portion is substantially annular about a central axis. The body member also has a central engagement portion for engaging the inner bearing structure. At least one of the outer engagement portion and central engagement portion is configured to mechanically couple the end cap to the bearing.The bearing may have a seating portion on of the outer ring on the inner bearing member for mechanically coupling with the end cap. In a shaft and bearing assembly, there may be a seating portion on the inner bearing member or on the outer ring. The end cap body portion extends from the seating portion across the annular cavity to sealingly engage the shaft, the inner ring or the outer ring.

A rolling bearing has a first ring, a second ring concentric with the first ring, and a plurality of rolling elements disposed between the first and second rings, the first ring and the second ring both being generally annular and having gaps therein. A rotating mechanism has a support structure, a rotating structure, and a rolling bearing as described herein mounted on the support structure and engaging the rotating structure. A rotating mechanism having a CTE and a non-split ring bearing having a bearing CTE that is significantly less than the mechanism CTE can be improved by replacing the non-split ring bearing with a bearing having a similar CTE and a gap in the inner ring and in the outer ring.
