摘要： A method and apparatus for cutting corrugated webs from a strip which is continuously formed to define undulating fins or corrugations extending transversely of the strip. The method and apparatus comprise periodically interrupting the movement of the corrugated strip, spreading a corrugation in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the strip and severing the corrugation at the spread corrugation and the apex of the corrugation. More specifically the corrugated strip is interrupted, the adjacent corrugations are moved longitudinally relative one another to locate the corrugation to be cut and a cutter is moved between the adjacent apices to cut the connecting oppositely disposed apex. In one form adjacent apices are engaged and spread apart. In another form, a finger engages a side of a corrugation to position the corrugation to be cut.

摘要： The vertically reciprocal upper blade assembly of a sheet metal squaring shear is activated in a substantially vertical path past a fixed lower blade by means of one or more reciprocal rotary hydraulic actuators. The output drive shaft of the hydraulic actuator(s) is connected to one or more drive straps by an eccentric cam which is keyed to the drive shaft and rotatably received within the straps. The horizontal gap between the upper blade and the lower blade is precisely controlled by suspending the blade supporting gib bracket from pins on the side walls of the apparatus housing and adjustably connecting the gib plate to the pins by eccentric cams. The gib mounting system also provides for adjusting the angle of the upper blade with respect to the lower blade. An improved hold down assembly limits the stroke of the hold down pins to maintain a slight clearance between the hold down pins and the bed surface at all times. A unique hydraulic actuator mounting bracket facilitates alignment of the actuator with the drive shaft by permitting adjustment of the actuator relative to the shaft after the shaft is properly mounted and aligned in the machine frame.

摘要： A mechanically operated cutter assembly adapted to shear bar or rod stock, such as bone pins, even though both ends of the rod are fixed, along a plane perpendicular to its axis, includes a body member having an elongated interior channel within which a rod carrier and cutting plug are slidably mounted, the body having a slot disposed transversely to the longitudinal axis of and intersecting the interior channel for permitting access of the rod to the cutting plug. The cutting plug has a transverse passageway contoured to fit a portion of the periphery of the rod to be sheared which, in a first longitudinal position is aligned with the rod-receiving slot. The cutting plug is adapted to be moved to a second longitudinal position at which the passageway is out of registry with the slot, whereby a rod carried in the passageway is severed. The tendency of the rod to bend during shearing is restricted interiorly of the body member by coaction of a transverse passageway in the rod carrier with the passageway in the cutting plug, and is restricted exteriorly of the body member by an arm secured to an external surface of the body member in a position to engage the rod near the point of shear.

摘要： A hydraulic shearing machine of the type wherein opposite sides of longitudinally adjacent sections of a length of bar stock and the like are engaged respectively between a fixed knife and a hold down member and between a movable knife and a yieldable back support member characterized in that the movable knife, the hold down member, and the back support member are hydraulically actuated from the same fluid pressure source to shear the bar between said sections while the latter are maintained in parallel relation by the hold down and back support forces which are proportionately related to the variable shearing forces encountered during the shearing of the bar and the variable shear forces encountered in the shearing of bars of different sizes and materials, the magnitude of the fluid pressure from said source being variable automatically in accordance with the shearing resistance imposed by the particular bar being sheared. The machine herein is further characterized in that a back gage member is also hydraulically actuated by the low pressure-high volume or the high pressure-low volume pump of a dual pump system, said system providing for rapid traverse of the hold down and knife actuators toward and away from the bar and for high pressure actuation by the high pressure-low volume pump of the system upon engagement of the hold down member and movable knife with longitudinally adjacent sections of the bar.

摘要： A shear and hold down device are arranged in side by side relation on a common base, the shear having a single alligator jaw and a hydraulic cylinder for actuating the same. The hold down device includes a frame spanning the area adjacent the shear and having a movable clamping bar positioned therein for movement by a pair of pivoted hydraulic piston and cylinder assemblies arranged to move the clamping bar into engagement with any object therebeneath so as to hold the same immediately adjacent the shear blade. Guide means on the opposite side of the shear blade prevent movement of the shear blade away from the hold down clamping bar.
