The method for splitting is characterized by the process comprising the steps of securing a metal plate by pinching both sides thereof with a clamping device, or securing a metal rod by pinching at least two opposite-facing portions on the periphery thereof with a clamping device; splitting longitudinally by slitting or cleaving the metal plate, or the metal rod, by pressing a slitting punch or a cleaving punch against the face of one end of the metal plate, or the metal rod; and advancing the splitting further by repeating the same operation of pressing the same punch stated above against the cleft of the splitting; and is characterized further in that, in each time of the press-splitting operation, the position of the clamping device on at least one side is moved in advance of the next pressing by a stroke corresponding to the distance from one end of the metal plate, or the metal rod, to the distal end of a split-desired portion.

The pinch roll and shear combination includes a stationary frame provided with a rotatably mounted lower roll and stationary lower blade adjacent the lower roll. An upper roll is rotatably mounted on the carriage and cooperates with the lower roll to form a pinch roll.     摘要: A method and apparatus for cutting corrugated webs from a strip which is continuously formed to define undulating fins or corrugations extending transversely of the strip. The method and apparatus comprise periodically interrupting the movement of the corrugated strip, spreading a corrugation in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the strip and severing the corrugation at the spread corrugation and the apex of the corrugation. More specifically the corrugated strip is interrupted, the adjacent corrugations are moved longitudinally relative one another to locate the corrugation to be cut and a cutter is moved between the adjacent apices to cut the connecting oppositely disposed apex. In one form adjacent apices are engaged and spread apart. In another form, a finger engages a side of a corrugation to position the corrugation to be cut.

    摘要: A plate processing device for use in a machine with a vertically acting ram; has a guide device mounted on the frame and a guide member which is pressed to a sliding surface of the ram. The guide member freely rotates around the centerline of the first vertical shaft and also freely rotates around the centerline of the second shaft perpendicular to the first shaft and parallel to the sliding surface and is constructed so that it follows the sliding surface of the ram. Also, a back gauge for the work is buffered against the shock of abutment with the workpiece and may be backed away from the workpiece. A pressing plate for the workpiece is supplied by a high pressure and a low pressure plunger, which are vertically actuated to provide a noiseless operation.

    摘要: A shear for cutting bar stock includes upper and lower cutting blade supports each having a cutting blade, and a hold-down member, all pivotally connected about a working bearing. This assembly is pivotally mounted about a second bearing or pivot axis on one end of a frame of the shear, and is height-adjustable by a lockable hydraulic actuator attached to the upper cutting blade support at the opposite end of the shear, to provide vertical adjustability of the cutting point with minimal horizontal or angular displacement thereof. Preferably, the two pivot axes and the cutting point are coplanar. The upper cutting blade support is pivoted relative to the lower one by a hydraulic actuator engaging the upper support at one upper part thereof which is not so coplanar, to provide both a relatively long lever arm and a relatively long cutting arm for minimizing arcuation of the cutting movement. One cutting blade is adjustable within its support for optimum positioning taking into account the shape of the stock. The hold-down member is hydraulically locked into position with the lower (thrusting) cutting blade and moves therewith relative to the upper (contact) cutting blade, providing a three-point support to yield a clean cut.
