摘要: A split tube soil sampling system includes a sample tube having an upper end and a lower end, a drive head attached to the upper end of the sample tube, and a cutting shoe attached to the lower end of the sample tube. The sample tube has a first generally semi cylindrical tube segment comprising a first pair of longitudinal edges, and a second generally semi cylindrical tube segment comprising a second pair of longitudinal edges. The first and second tube segments are configured to be joined together along their respective longitudinal edges to form a cylinder having a through bore. The longitudinal edges of the tube segments have interlocking fingers that are mated together to hold the first and second tube segments together.

摘要: A method for determining allowable bearing pressures of a steel footing on variable subsurface materials whether native soils, rock, or manmade construction material is disclosed. The method continuously measures vertical displacement by an optical technique of a dismantable steel footing under the impact of a free falling steel drop weight. The load pulse of the drop weight is measured by means of a load cell.

摘要: The present invention comprises a method and a system of collection and analysis for in situ determination of concentrations of minerals in granular material originating from a shaft under excavation, in a continuous, non-intrusive manner in real time. According to the present invention granular material collected passes to a granular material collector, subsequently entering a reading module which determines the concentration of different materials by spectroscopic methods. The granular material collected comes from drilling dust which rises along a boring tool of an excavating bit. The concentration data of different minerals in the granular material being analysed at a given moment may be processed and transmitted to establish and/or correct logistic and operational procedures such as, for example, in an excavation or in an overall process wherein it is set.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a plurality of secondary containment panels and assembling and installing the panels in a secondary containment system of an above-ground liquid storage tank or other retention facility includes forming a plurality of flexible substrate pieces. A liquid impermeable coating is applied to the upper surface of each piece such that an edge segment of the piece remains uncoated. The coating is applied to the substrate piece in an indoor enclosure. The coated pieces are delivered to the site of the tank and extended across the ground adjacent to the tank. At least a pair of the pieces are juxtaposed relative to one another such that a first one of the pieces overlaps the uncoated segment of the second piece to form a seam. An adhesive substance is then applied to the seam to fasten the first and second pieces together.

摘要: A testing method and apparatus for ground liquefaction and dynamic characteristics in the original position utilizing a boring hole, wherein the dynamic strength and deformation characteristics of a soil layer against a dynamic repetitive load, in an optional position in the ground can be obtained by a simple method. A measuring cell based on a three-chamber construction is used, and upper and lower soil layers (J1, J3) with an intermediate soil layer (J2) therebetween are alternately subjected to a dynamic repetitive load, and what influence there is on the intermediate soil layer (J2) is investigated from the relation between pressure and displacement.

摘要: The invention concerns a process for locating and measuring deformation in a civil engineering structure, characterised by the fact that at least one geosynthetic fabric (1) containing a plurality of optical fibres (2a to 2e) in parallel and capable of transmitting signals is applied in the said structure or under the said structure, the said optical fibres containing Bragg gratings (3), evenly spaced in series (4) of N1 consecutive gratings that correspond to the same wavelength, the said series being themselves distributed in identical sets, each of which contains N2 consecutive series that correspond to the different wavelengths, and by the fact that, in at least two optical fibres, the numbers N1 of gratings of a series and the numbers N2 of series (4) of a set (5) are determined in such as way that the measurement of the differences between the wavelengths of the incident light transmitted in each of the said optical fibres and the wavelengths of the light reflected by the Bragg gratings enable to locate the deformations to which the structure is subjected on the one hand and, on the other, to measure the elongation of the said optical fibres where the deformation occurs.

摘要: The combination of a flexible pipe, e.g. plastic, and a reinforcing member mounted around the pipe to strengthen the pipe and to enhance its ability to resist deformation under load. In one embodiment the reinforcing member includes a flexible perforated plastic netting containing an aggregation of lightweight elements such as expanded polystyrene beads capable of wrapping around the pipe, preferably in helical fashion along the length of the pipe. In another embodiment, a number of members are mounted on the pipe in longitudinally extending fashion. In all embodiments, the beads provide drainage around the pipe when it is placed in a trench and obviate the need for gravel normally used in conventional systems.
