Abstract:
A retrofit conversion kit for facilitating the conversion of a door operating apparatus conventionally mounted above the door, to a position mounted and anchored underground for operating a swinging door therefrom. The conversion to an anchored underground position is facilitated by incorporating positional adjustment mechanisms covering any or all possible adjustment dimensions.
Abstract:
A cover for either a left-handed or right-handed operating automatic door closer including a body, and a pinion shaft extending from the top of the body, the cover comprising: a housing including a wall and an open rear, the wall having a rear edge and having therein first and second slots, each of the slots extending forward from the rear edge; and a clip including a base complementary to each of the first and second slots, and a flexible hook including a first end connected to the base and a floating second end, the base of the clip being insertable into either one of the slots so that the base substantially fills the one of the slots and the clip is secured to the wall of the housing with the hook positioned inside the housing and opening rearwardly; the housing with the clip inserted into one of the slots being positionable over the door closer with the hook of the clip receiving the door closer; wherein, when the housing is positioned over the door closer, the pinion shaft extends through the first slot and the clip is inserted in the second slot when the door closer is configured for left-handed operation, and the pinion shaft extends through the second slot and the clip is inserted in the first slot when the door closer is configured for right-handed operation.
Abstract:
A frameless glass door clamp has a clamping member, a base cover and a cap cover. The clamp member has a base side surface and a cap side surface. The base cover is mounted on the base side surface and has a panel, multiple flanges, a tapered face and multiple rounded outer edges. The cap cover is mounted on the cap side surface and has a panel, a multiple flanges, a tapered face and multiple rounded outer edges. Because the outer edges of the base and cap covers are rounded, the frameless glass door clamp is much less likely to injure people or damage objects and is easier to manufacture.
Abstract:
An industrial sliding door has one or more panel assemblies, each panel assembly having a track panel secured to a header and a swinging panel hinged at the inner edge of the track panel to pivot in either direction about a vertical axis if the swinging panel is impacted by a vehicle such as a fork lift. Both panels can also pivot in at least one direction about a horizontal axis. A rail mounted stationary relative to the doorway at the lower edge of the door holds the lower edge of the door in proximity to the doorway and is disengagable if the door is hit from the opposite side, to permit the door panel assembly to swing about the horizontal axis away from the doorway. The swinging panel is held by a detent in the plane of the track panel in a normal position.
Abstract:
An actuating device is provided for moving a closure panel between an open position spaced apart from a vehicle body and a closed position abutting the vehicle body to close an access opening thereof. The actuating device includes a telescopic arm having a first member coupled to one of the closure panel and the vehicle body and a second member coupled to the other of the closure panel and the vehicle body. The first and second members are slidable relative to one another to move the actuating device between a retracted position corresponding with the closed position and an extended position corresponding with the open position. A screw is rotatable relative to the first member. The screw includes a cavity formed therewithin. A nut is secured to the second member and threadingly engages the screw such that rotation of the screw moves the second member towards and away from the first member to move the actuating device between the respective retracted and extended positions. A gas spring is at least partially disposed within the cavity of the screw for urging the actuating device into the extended position to move the closure panel into the open position.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an overhead door closer. For reducing the width of the overhead door closer including the casing, it is proposed that the overhead door closer has two compression springs, which are disposed one inside the other, that the spring supporting member and the damping piston have an anti-rotation means in relation to the cam disc and in that the housing wall has a reduced cross-section on both sides of the longitudinal axis such that a substantially planar surface is formed on the outside.
Abstract:
A device for the synchronized actuation of sliding doors, provided for two sliding doors moving indistinctly in the same plane or in two planes forming any angle, consisting of two pairs of cogwheels (8-8′) and (9-9′) between which there is arranged, inside of each pair, an also cog belt (10-10′), a connection part (13-13′) fixed to the corresponding suspension grip (6-6′) of the respective sliding door being joined to each one of these belts. Joined to the two neighboring cogwheels (9-9′) there are respective cogwheels (18-18′) of a larger diameter, directly meshing with one another, to synchronously transmit motion from one cog belt (10-10′) to the other, cogwheels (18-18′) which are kept joined by means of parts (20) bridging their shafts (19-19′) and maintaining the drive transmission both when the doors are coplanar and when they form any angle.
Abstract:
A chain guide for guiding a chain within a chain hoist. The chain guide includes a substantially elongated body having an inner side and an outer side, along with first and second extremities. The substantially elongated body is made of a substantially flexible material for curving the substantially elongated body into a substantially arched configuration about a given wheel of the chain hoist. The chain guide also includes first and second chain receiving portions provided adjacent to the first and second extremities respectively of the substantially elongated body, on the inner side thereof. Each chain receiving portion comprises a pair of shoulders protruding from the inner side of the body and defining an open channel shaped and sized for slidably receiving a portion of the chain. The chain guide also includes a deformable connecting portion for interconnecting the first and second chain receiving portions of the chain guide. Also described is a chain hoist provided with the chain guide.
Abstract:
A system for moving a barrier between limit positions, includes an operator motor assembly mounted proximate to the barrier, wherein at least a portion of the motor assembly is movable between an operating position and a locking position with the motor assembly blocking movement of the barrier. A bias assembly biases the motor assembly in the operating position and allows the motor assembly to move toward the locking position when either a predetermined force overcomes a biasing force or when the barrier is moved to a closed limit position or when forced entry is imposed on the barrier. The biasing force may be adjusted by moving posts on the motor assembly that are engaged by the bias assembly. A disengagement feature may also be provided that allows pivotable movement of the motor assembly even when in a locking position. And the pivoting motor assembly may be used as a secondary entrapment input to an operator controller.
Abstract:
A floor spring includes a housing for receiving a closing mechanism having a closing shaft. The closing shaft can support a door, and the housing has a region surrounding the closing shaft. The floor spring further includes a cover component for covering the region surrounding the closing shaft. The cover component has an essentially U-shaped base unit, and an insert which is insertable into the base unit.
