摘要： Method and apparatus for effecting a voice communication between user terminals connected via a communication network include displaying a menu of country options to a user and receiving a number in local form. Formatting rules are recalled for a destination country selected by the user from the country options. A country prefix for the destination country is prepended to the number in accordance with the formatting rules to generate a formatted number. The formatted number is supplied to a client installed at the user terminal for effecting the voice communication using the formatted number.

摘要： A telephone number is automatically adjusted in the context a business card or other telephone number exchange. The country code, area code, or other prefix portion is added, removed, or modified based on a location associated with the telephone number and/or a location associated with the recipient. In one example, a sending device looks up location information by contacting the service provider, using locally-stored information, or otherwise, and, based on this information, includes an appropriate prefix. The sending device can also use a location associated with the recipient in determining an appropriate prefix or adjusting a received prefix, for example, based on the recipient's own telephone number. Adjustments to telephone numbers can also be made by recipient devices, intermediary devices, and any other devices that may be involved in the exchange of telephone numbers, business card information, or related activities, and in other contexts as well.

摘要： A mechanism is disclosed for managing phone calls on phone devices used by the employee of a company. When the user wants to give a call, a new plugin in the phone device interprets an attribute value added by the phone device user to each phone number in order to categorize the call. The cell phone user enters a profile describing his call accounting information. A call management plugin computes a prefix for user personal calls which will be adapted to the user location. The call management plugin at the end of the call tags the call information as a personal call or business call. The phone device sends the tagged call information to a remote server of the company, which consolidates billing information received from the phone operators with the tagged call information.

The location information may be entered by the user or identified using the number and the set of rules. Once the location information is identified, the interface may determine the correct number to dial using the set of rules to produce a correct international telephone number. The correct telephone number may then be associated with the contact so that the correct telephone number is dialed upon receiving a user input to call the contact.

Otherwise, information associated with a portion of the dialed telephone number that identifies a geographic location from a communications network may be requested and presented to the user.

The call-in number is transmitted from the computerized device to the communication receiver. A pause is executed, using the computerized device, according to the pause indicator formatted for a specific type of device. The pass code is transmitted from the computerized device to the communication receiver.
