摘要： A protective device for attachment to a waist belt of a law enforcement officer to prevent inadvertent opening of the belt buckle, the device includes a sleeve adapted to slide along the belt to a position snugly covering the closed buckle and slidably movable away from that position to permit release of the buckle. The sleeve preferably has funnel ends and is formed of a rigid material. A slot in the inner wall of the sleeve permits temporary expansion of the sleeve to accommodate for the increased thickness of the loop of the belt about buckle end connections for the loop followed by a contraction of the sleeve to snugly encase the buckle. A stiff sleeve with releasable fasteners at its ends and with release fasteners between the buckle and sleeve are alternate embodiments.

摘要： A trouser belt, including a single-piece band with a first and second extremity, a box (1) fixed to the first extremity of the band, a plate (14) mounted so as to slide within the box (1) following the longitudinal direction and able to be linked to the second extremity by way of a buckle pin (12), at least one serration (18) longitudinally formed on the sliding plate (14), at least one tappet (25, 26) assembled in co-operation with the box in a longitudinal direction and including a protruding pin (21, 22), a helical spring (24) mounted so as to push the tappet (25, 26) in a position to lock the pin in the teeth of the serration. The mutual longitudinal movement of the box and the plate is therefore avoided, while pressure applied to the tappet against the pressure applied by the spring frees the pin from the serration to allow for the mutual longitudinal movement. A single coaxial spring (24) is implemented to at least one of said tappet (25, 26).

摘要： A device for adjusting the waist size of a garment having an inner waist portion and an outer waist portion which are loose and can be held together in a mutually overlapping relation, includes a guide tape attached to the outside of the inner waist portion and having a plurality of teeth formed on its inner surface along its length, and a slider attached to the outer waist portion slidably along the guide tape and engageably with its teeth. The slider includes a flat hollow body having a pair of horizontally spaced apart openings through which the guide tape extends, and a pair of vertically spaced apart openings, and an actuator housed in the body and having a push head at its top, a leg at its bottom and a plurality of protrusions each engageable with one of the teeth on the guide tape. The head and leg are held in the vertically spaced apart openings, respectively, of the body. The body is secured to the outer waist portion of the garment by a fitting having prongs pierced therethrough. At least one spring is housed in the body for urging the actuator upwardly to hold the protrusions in engagement with some of the teeth on the guide tape to hold the slider against movement along the guide tape until the push head is depressed to push down the actuator to disengage the protrusions from the teeth and render the slider slidable along the guide tape.

摘要： A molded plastic cap buckle and adjustment strap are provided for adjusting the circumference of the head band of a cap to adjust the cap to the head of a user. The buckle is secured to one end of the head band of the cap and the adjustment strap is secured at the other end of the head band. The buckle is made from a unitary member having parts hinged together along an elongated axis that lies generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the adjustment strap. The buckle and strap have cooperating recesses and projections for securing the buckle and strap in selected adjusted position. The recesses and projections are constructed to provide for one-way longitudinal movement of the strap relative to the buckle in one direction when the buckle and strap are assembled to reduce the effective circumference of the head band, but preclude longitudinal movement in the opposite direction.

摘要： An adjustable head band suspension system for use in a safety hat shell is disclosed. The suspension system includes a head encircling head strap having overlapping rear end portions and an arc shaped channel adapted to fit the back of a wearer's head. The overlapping end portions of the head strap are slidably disposed in the channel. A suitable adjusting device, such as a rack and pinion or buckle is attached to the channel to adjust the amount of overlap of the end portions. The channel is attached by means of a pair of tabs to a rear interior surface portion of the shell and a front end portion of the head strap is connected to a forward interior surface portion of the shell. A manually compressible, resilient buckle assembly is disclosed which can be used by itself for adjusting and maintaining the desired length of overlap of the overlapping end portions of a head strap or which can be used in association with the arc shaped channel as a central portion thereof.
